true, there are comedy cdramas that are just um, the jokes dont land.

Here it's not that much on trying to give jokes. But, it's like calm before storm. We get this happy family and also good friends. in drama land, good things don't last ... so... early on I was dreading haha. like how many eps will they stay so light content?

okay then this part is really imo only. I think the character inconsistency is from him as himself( xiao mingming) and the novel character. and his character development is merging of them both. lol I don't know am I making sense.
