I am not from China, can you help me understand what the chaos is all about? I believe its related to casting.
Ahh so its not specific to these actors but anyone who plays the novel characters. Actually I can get the attachment to an extent as I am also an avid reader & have strong feelings for some my fav novel characters. I would be upset or disappointed if wrong actors are casted. That being said hating & shaming actors for being casted is crossing a line. Who knows maybe Dylan & Meng will do justice to the novel characters, we should let the drama be released & then judge. Peace to all.
My question is why are you looking for chemistry in a drama that's not a romance?
why shouldn't I look for chemistry? That is what makes any pairing whether romance, bromance, BL or friendship bind visually & create the right atmosphere.
i can feel it from his side, not from her till ep 13/14. She doesn't seem to be in that 'fall in love' mood -…
I believe there is a misunderstanding. I am not talking about romance here. Your points are valid in the building of feelings. What I am talking about is the visual chemistry, the vibe. Many leads with tragic past have slow burn romance but the moment they meet it is magic and electrifying if there is chemistry. Otherwise it is meh.... that is what's missing at least for me.
I maybe in minority here but I don't see any chemistry between the leads. I always thought that finally when these two are paired up it will be awesome but it feels lacklustre. Basically in front of Bai Lu & the character she is playing WXY is not holding up as a ML. Independently as a character he is great. Anyways, hope everyone else feels opposite to me, then they can enjoy the drama in its entirety. Was just too disappointed so wanted to share. Happy watching!
Please tell me this drama is a hit ? I think it will be truly sad if gems like these loose against series which are total crap but still gain popularity. Delightful drama. Thumbs up to the whole team.
I am on Ep6 and just realised that majority of this drama will be Politically focused and that too on one scenario which is Nanzhao. It diverts so completely from S1 that besides the cast you don't get the feel & vibe of Imperial Coroner. Plus I already know who the main villain is, it's not very creative like in S1. Hope it excites me enough to complete the drama otherwise I will be very disappointed as I have been eagerly waiting for this series.
Same. Ive even gone as far as believing.. they probably dont want strong FL because it will promote feminism and…
Being from India I guess centuries of mindset and prejudice will not change so soon. There are a set of rules by which women are defined in Asia. So while they want to show a strong FL it's through their narrow minded glasses.
What do you mean by if we look at the FL as the bad guy? I just could not find the perspective that was the FL character and eventually dropped the drama when she acted in such an extreme way upon learning ML double lives. I was tolerating her until then and that moment especially since I barely felt the romance between the leads I just dropped it. I understand in the script ML betrayed her and all but she acted as if ML truly was the villain which contradicts her major belief about script rules and ML being the hero.
I dropped the drama coz of FL character. It was like a slap in the face and I truly don't know if screenwriters in China just don't know how to write a strong FL lead.
Rare to find someone not liking this drama like me. Even 7 was generous from me keeping in mind that I did not see last 4 eps, I got so bored. It felt more like a Bai Lu drama, even the ML was like a prop to me honestly. I understand she is the top billing but it was too much. You already have a newbie (relatively) ML, so pushing Bai Lu all the time was overkill even though I like the actress.
