After their convo they went back to their house. And then in ep 5 ( the signal scene) is their first convo after the last night’s argument.
There are some scenes in between which was shown in ep 6.
The episode 5 ending was shown to give a cliffhanger ending. It was supposed to make us question what was going on 😅

In the new timeline, he was not after Soljae because he never encountered Sol.
