the leads dead and it's an illusion? Or is it really them in a parallel world?
The FL had comeback/reborn through the remnant of her soul the ML was holding, where he poured all his spirit essence to revive her. Thus, dying on the process.
As for the illusion ending, it's like a memory of the past the 2FL has locked in a painting. So in that memory/painting world, they are together forever.
Finally finished it. Damn! What a second half of the drama!I was like, oh no the FL has suffered a lot! But then…
I think its better that way. They had too much burden embedded to them right after they were born. Had they been straightforward and honest to each other, they may have overcome the added hatred along the way. Yet, it keeps on piling up. Though I pity more the ML than the FL, he never really hated her and had given her all the chances needed.
On the fan service ending, it may be an illusion, but I think that 2FL Du Yue Lian, had locked them in a memory of a happy past where they can be together forever.

Who says the ML actor can't act? It's my first time watching him and I can say he's one of the actor that I really felt his emotion on painful scenes and got me teary-eyed. His facial expression may be limited but if you watch it closely, his lip and eye movements convey the emotions needed.
I don't have a problem with the fl actress herself & I don't think I've seen anything else she's been in but I…
yes I mean, her role in Handsome Siblings is what I dislike, not the actress herself βοΈ. Her roles always start like a fierce decisive woman but then immediately disappoints after a few episodes. I put this on hold because of this reason, and like you, I like the ML too lol so went to check his other works instead and I found "Life After Life" more enjoyable than this drama. The storyline is unique, though the execution is a bit lacking, it still got me hooked.
I got bored in the The Night Is Still Young so I checked the ML's other work and came here and finished this in one sitting. I thought it was silly at first and not a fan of the FL's voice but got over with that and got hooked throughout. It was really fun. I did hope they showed more on how the FL fell in love with the ML because it felt rushed.
Really disliked this actress in her role in Handsome siblings, and now, she is on a similar role again LOL. I'm on episode 4 and pls tell me she has brain left to think and analyze things on coming episodes. She's always impulsive and her hatred is clouding her judgement.
Do I have to thank you for spoiling me? I think not. Hope you feel good
Ok, I apologize I may have forgotten putting it under spoiler, but you don't have to be rude. I've seen too many unhidden spoilers in many comments sections in many dramas here but so far people just remind them to put it under spoiler. yet here you are ruining your own mood. Try being happy sometimes π
I tried this because of Yang Ze, and so far so good in Ep1. But once the FL opens her mouth, I just can't! I can tolerate a high pitch voice but not when with the mannerism of a 5year old having tantrums, and being a top assassin!? Oh gosh! Is this her real voice or dubbed? Dropped at Ep2.
Another drama well-acted by Zhao Jia Min. It was nicely executed and the story was consistent except for the last episode. I mean, this is a SE that I have to agree with but the way they did it with the ML is just stupid. And like everyone said on the FL and ML's chemistry, it was just flat. There's smoke, maybe a bit of spark, but it won't just ignite. Maybe because it's what's needed on the story itself. The animosity was too great love can't conquer it. I enjoyed watching ML's bodyguard again after seeing him in The Romance of Tiger and Rose. His short fighting scenes were impressive.
This is actually a nice short watch. Except for what's everyone saying with the fake beard (LOL), there were no cringe moments and less cliches as we see on most of these dramas. Though I would have like for them to just stick on first story line since this is a short drama but the writers were able to connect both at the end, so all good.
I'm on Ep10 and FL's naivety is wearying and becoming a nuisance already. 10 episodes of gullibility is stressful.…
Ep11 is where the real story starts, from FL becoming more aware of one's intention to ML finally acknowledging how he actually feels. There were many sweet moments later on that I could not help myself to finish the remaining episodes in one sitting ππ I would say I'm glad I didn't drop this become because I really enjoyed the other half.
On the side note, I wonder if Li Hong Yi (ML) doesn't like to smile on camera as he barely smiled here (when he should on so many scenes) while Huang Ri Ying seems to be more bubbly.
I'm on Ep10 and FL's naivety is wearying and becoming a nuisance already. 10 episodes of gullibility is stressful. This is actually fun to watch but repetitive tribulation without gaining any wisdom, because FL always lose her memory, is pointless. Her character build-up is too slow, no wonder many viewers half dropped this drama on early episodes because nothing actually happened. With the ML, what's the point of protecting her behind her back (because she is really good at martial arts) but doesn't guide her to live in the the real world? He knew how her kindness makes her naive, yet he only lectures and gets angry with her every time she makes a bad decision. I'd say you can watch Ep1-2 then skip to ep10 and can still catch up on the whole plot.

Putting it on-hold for now.
Dropped at Ep2.
I had to agree their death scenes were not well-thought
