This is about life of a struggling person who was not even sure about his family expense and then life gave him second chance. His skill were top notch from the start as shown in the backstory, he had been back stabbed right from start. Now he wants to do something that can utilize his acting skills, FL came and first destroyed his face in the washroom, then his image during award show and then his existence with his mother's back story.
The makers are trying to show harsh reality with pinch of comedy and ML doing exactly what is needed from him. This is neither a legendary love story nor a suspense thriller, so maybe reset your expectations, instead of trash commenting about ML.

Your are correct, but if he lose this defamation case then it's same is being guilty of the things that the youtube channel mentioned. The consequences will not be legal but his fame will be distorted.

Now that legal battle is in full swing all the pseudo activists will fade away. If the justice will prevail. If he's guilty he'll face the consequences but if he is image is tarnished just because he is a celebrity then this will never undo the damage that was done to the actor's life.
