Personally I think it was reasonable. She's not the one who was spying all the time. So really she had no reasons to suspect that he is a threat.

You're right the setup now indicates that it's unusual but if there's one mountain practicing it is there going to be a twist of a bunch of outcast cultivators hired by the emperor from a mountain nearby, are we going to be subjected to flying phoenixes,etc., there's just got to be some warning to make it easier to suspend disbelief. Like the lad definitely left prison somehow to meet Lu Xin at the river. Did he teleport? Did he put everyone to sleep left prison and returned?maybe it was his spirit wandered off. who knows. anyway i'm not going to lose sleep over it but yeah anticipation annoys me a little.

yeah. I've seen her in "Later I Laughed" last year. although it's not my style and the show is very much lowkey she was pretty good. Examination for everyone she was alright, but I didn't/couldn't go far with it because no subs. But yeah I definitely like that girl hopefully she gets something more substantial soon.
