It's not fair that Shimizu spent 12 years in prison waiting for his death to come, Datehara spent his 12 years happily live with his daughter after manipulation he made in his past, but the real killers who kill the family is still somewhere outside there without any suspicion and judgment. I really hope for 2nd season and they have plenty of material to make 2nd season, if not a series maybe a movie.
