He planned to use the attack as the reason to infiltrate the Rong house, that's why the assistant was waiting for him after a week but he didn't show up. Also his people were looking for him but couldn't get him alone(boat scene ep12). If the assistant was the enemy he wouldn't have bothered to tell him all that. He would have killed him. The guy was beaming like crazy when he found the ML.

It's totally df. He's got equal screentime to the FL and he's playing a gray, scheming character for a change. And he's nailing it. Also, lots of eye candy. All the suitors are good looking -though not righteous
