Same here, !! Jane is such a fun character. I really liked her. Her character in this episode lived upto the par of the comedy in the series. It was soo funny how she was chasing Peak and Peak running away from her... She is nowhere near annoying .
She is also soo considerate of Peak's housemates and seems like have befriended them as well.....

Your theory could be true, very well speculated, with Peak not recieving his father's phone calls and Jane covering up for him. Also, I believe it's somewhat in relation with family money and buisness, therefore Peak was soo eager to find a job.
What I am not sure of is that if peat is not willing to marry Jane because of his sexuality or is he just not interested in her.
