FSG called him a Beast but FSG also gave him too much credit. He is just a total hypocrite talking big to cover the fact he's a big weakling. Maybe your unintentional lapsus was better: a sheep playing, pretending to be a wolf.
"I don't kill women" - his words to the brainless FSG's sister which convinced her he was the hero of her dreams. Fact check: unless they are my most loyal generals who I want to marry.
"There are no lowly people, all people are equal, my subordinates sit with me around the table, they are my bros" Fact check: even the closest bros are expendable. Not only.
We had this scene of him chatting happily with the 3 orphans, previously sent by him and WR bro to track her while he contemporarily sent another group of his people to kill her, to use one of those children to lure her (putting a child in a mortal danger as well) on a boat filled with inflamable oil... And after all that sh*t, he continues with his double personality insanity hoping she'll come back to him.
He is a poor man, a poisoned sheep, who is scheming with the enemy from one antidote to another but is always ready to sacrifice the next closest person for any unachievable goal he has in mind.
FSG can't be more distant from him.

He can't protect her bc he promised her earlier he would let her deal with her killers. That's why I've said all men in this drama talk big, I know he is a definitely better man than that beast(s) who even used those children to track her down and harm her

was the fact XJS and WR sent her pupils, orphans of their fallen comrades, they were using those children with the purpose to track her at that border clinic. I've thought the children escaped on their own to find her.
Three children, 2 boys and a girl, just like the three of them...
Adding another weight to the dimension of the betrayal, another insult to injuries they've inflicted her...

That battle between sworn brother and sister was sooo heart breaking, I've stopped breathing. The intensity of moves, sword clashes and gazes mixed with flashbacks of their youth. They truly fought with broken hearts, crying, gasping, screaming due to the heaviness inside them. Heaviness of betraying, heaviness of being betrayed. Definitely a memorable scene, excellently executed, shot and edited.

And what I haven't expected at all...
