idk if this make you feel better but the setup is FL is 10 years younger than ML in the novel and although she's smart in investigation she is still a spoiled little girl. At this point, it is just a fake marriage between them and FL doesn't like ML yet.

Third parties are involved with the cases, not so much impact on their relationship or simply the catalyst, I don't recall any love triangles between ML-FL (By the way, there is another modern drama of DYX where FL-ML build their relationship slowly without third parties called Moonlight Variations, if you are interested)

Haiz, I have never thought about the age-gap issue until I saw the criticism, they are acting anyway, people can see bts to understand how the actors interact to each other, they are pure an sincere, the atmosphere is really good among the team.
