After 20 episodes, I can confidently say this is one of the best Xianxia dramas I’ve ever seen. The special effects are good, the fight scenes are great, and the acting is solid. The story is captivating, especially with its fated love elements, which I love. Most importantly, the pacing is excellent—every emotional moment feels well-earned and natural, never forced. The female lead is phenomenal. Honestly, if this drama had a more widely recognized actress like Bai Lu, its rating would easily be above 8.5. Here’s hoping they nail the second half and ending!

Whatever they do I hope they keep the essence of their origins and relationships. It's perfect and fascinating in the novel.

Out of context, this could easily be mistaken for one of the most toxic Xianxia relationships ever. LMAO! MXL has been something else throughout the first half of this drama. She’s spent so much time both seducing and beating up XXC. First, she kissed him to free and manipulate him. Then she pinned him to the bed, effectively holding him captive. Let’s not forget the forest scene where she kicked his ass just because he stopped her from killing GQM. Oh, and more unsolicited kisses—only to top it all off with a stab when SQ showed up to drag her back. I just watched the preview for episode 18 and MXL is still beating XXC's ass!
