So, women didn't refer to men by their nickname but men, who spoiled their wives did use the nickname. Its just weird to refer to someone older than you by their nickname like that. You will see women use words of endearment for men... but those aren't nicknames. In Xianxias, you will see older women/goddesses using nicknames for their younger/similar aged lovers.
