Ok so as the drama airs tomorrow, I just want to leave this here as a reminder. Especially for those who didn’t read the novel (no big spoilers dw) cz I can read the novel backwards in my sleep lol.
If you don’t wanna read a long post, keep scrolling.
Sooooo I already know there’ll be people acting like character analysts after watching an episode and a half. Let them🤷♀️. Some of us read the novel thrice. It’s okay if you didn’t... He Yan and Xiao Jue are wounded souls. They’re not here to play your power couple fantasy. Yeah, they’re cool. But they’re not flawless. He Yan is confident on the battlefield but insecure everywhere else. She had power, but never control girl she couldn’t even live under her own name. You’ll see her break down. You’ll see her ask for help. She has emotions, she feels. Xiao Jue is either admired or feared. But he lost his parents too young and was thrown into war with 3,000 men against 100,000. He never got to be a teenager. He won. U think he did it by being sweet and charming? And still, I just know people will call him emotionally constipated. But he cares and she knows he does. Even if you don’t. So if you’re here for “always strong, never needs help” kind of leads... this isn’t for you. If you expect quick romance and kisses in every damn episode... don’t start. You’ll only be disappointed. Expect real devotion instead. And if you’re here because your fave drama flopped last month and you just want to hate-watch this one and nitpick? Maybe take a walk. But if you’re here to understand characters who are messy and in desperate need of therapy Welcome to the club.
I'm very attached to the characters tbh and that's bcz the novel is one of the best I've ever read. The characters are precious to me literally. Let's watch the drama for fun and the growth. This was just a reminder for everyone. Myself included.
The advantage of transmigration not being allowed here is that He Yan might be able to take back her identity…
yeah I'm happy about that too she can take back what belonged to her as a mighty general who invokes fear and not just an official who doesn't have any real power... she was cool and earned that position with hard work too but the original he yan being pitied as a wronged person killed by a concubine just doesn't sit right with me let them know she isn't so easy to kill
I said I could wait until all the eps are out. I lied. The drama hasn't even started airing and here I'm everyday acting like it's already ep 28 and I'm grieving. I don't even know what I'm waiting for anymore situation is bad over here yeah that's where I'm at....
waiting for xiao jue's "cold and indifferent" looks and "His lips curved slightly" also for the stunned and speechless he yan whenever she has a convo with XJ ik ik she can also annoy the shit outta him
God bless 🙏 I re reread the novel twice since spring but I haven't read the last part cause I thought it was…
yes FINALLY I am so hyped that I've made a pinterest board only for he yan and xiao jue AND I can't sleep bcz Cheng Lei is gonna slay those "cold and indifferent" looks bcz HE IS XIAO JUE.
inconsistent airing schedule would make me throw hands literally and I've waited 9+ months I can wait a few days more and binge watch all the ep... yes I CAN DO ITTTT will be reading the novel 3 times more or smth maybe
