This isn’t a love story… it’s what happens after the “happily ever after” cracks.

To My Star 2 takes everything soft and comforting from season 1 and quietly sets it on fire 🔥 Then it rebuilds the relationship from ashes, piece by painful piece. The story picks up with Seo Joon and Ji Woo no longer together, after a sudden, unexplained breakup that leaves one chasing answers and the other running from something deeper

And that’s where this season hits differently: it’s not about falling in love… it’s about staying in love when things get hard.

The tone is heavier, more mature, almost suffocating at times in the best way. What used to be cute domestic moments turns into emotional warfare. Miscommunication, insecurity, fear of abandonment… it all explodes here. The writing digs deep into their flaws and emotional baggage, turning a simple BL into something raw and painfully real. Critics often highlight how season 2 expands the characters and explores a much more complex relationship dynamic compared to the lighter first season

And honestly? Ji Woo will test your patience. Seo Joon will break your heart. And somehow, you’ll still root for them.

Visually, the series slows down even more, letting silence do the heavy lifting. Long stares, unfinished conversations, emotional distance you can almost feel through the screen. It’s intimate, but in a way that hurts.

💭 In the end, To My Star 2 is not a comforting romance. It’s a confrontation. It asks:
What if love isn’t enough?
And then quietly answers… maybe it is, but only if you’re brave enough to fight for it.

This is one of the most emotionally intense Korean BLs out there. Not fluffy. Not easy. But unforgettable.

If this BL were a place, it would be a quiet beach at sunset… soft light, salty air, and emotions that creep in slowly like the tide 🌊

His: I Didn’t Think I Would Fall In Love tells a coming-of-age story wrapped in silence and hesitation. It follows two teenage boys who meet in a coastal town and form a connection that feels deeper than friendship, even if neither of them fully understands it yet. This is not a loud romance. It’s built on glances, pauses, and everything left unsaid.

The pacing is deliberately gentle, almost meditative. For some, that’s part of its charm. For others, it might feel like the story is holding back, afraid to fully dive into its own emotions. The narrative stays subtle to a fault at times, especially when you’re craving something more emotionally intense. But there’s also something very real about that restraint. It captures that awkward, confusing stage of youth where feelings exist before you even have the words for them.

Visually, the series leans into a dreamy seaside aesthetic that mirrors the story’s tone: fleeting, nostalgic, and a little bittersweet. It feels like a memory you can’t quite hold onto, only revisit.

In the end, His (2019) isn’t about grand confessions or dramatic twists. It lives in the small moments — a lingering look, a quiet realization, a feeling that changes everything without making a sound. It may not break your heart… but it will leave a soft echo long after it’s over.

9/10 Honestly wow.
I cannot express enough how much effort I know they put into this series. They portrait mental illness so well and mourning off a loss one. Not to mention the side couple.
How one of them couldn't figure out who he was and clearly wasn't mentally well. Everything about this series just made me feel like I could trust someone. They did this series perfectly. But also the relationship was so toxic. I feel like the top guy lowkey was really rude to the other guy.
Especially the scene where some..assault took place. It was honestly hard to ignore. Sadly no smut, but it's okay. Still such a great series.

10/10 Too Short Mini Series
This series pulled at my heart strings. I don't know how many episodes there are but the ones I watched were too short and left me wanting more. The two main characters had me cheering for their happiness. The episode aren't long but short so one episode a week wasn't enough for me.
I'm hoping for at least 12 episodes or more because their story needs to told completely... And mini series are usually rushed. So far I have watched the four episodes twice... now I have to watch the series again. Needless to say. The actors are great and the chemistry pulls me in.
I also enjoy that it's a series based off everyday situations...
And not some fairy tale stuff.... If this was a dvd it would be in my library...

10/10 Great sim of characters chemistry
Our dating sim is officially the best BL k-drama I've ever seen. The short story, which can be watched as one longer film, brought a subject that I personally have not yet encountered. High school graduation didn't go as planned, but Shin Ki Tae and Lee Wan met again after seven years and explained everything to each other after a long time. I am not fan of mobile games of this type, that's why I was a little hesitant to start this at all, but luckily I quickly realized that it's not a game, but a series. The chemistry between the actors is amazing and the supporting characters also prove themselves. The always tired Sunny was definitely the best of the group of colleagues we could meet.

10/10 Where you get best of everything
I have watched many bl/romance drama till now but I was lucky enough to stumble upon this masterpiece. I don't want to just label this as a bl drama, I would rather go ahead and say it's a romance drama. This is a story of two teenagers and we all must have seen/experienced such a story before but what makes it so exceptional is the acting, direction, cinematography, background scores, characters... I can go on and on!
Everything is polished here and sets a standard for entire entertainment industry out there. This is the first drama where I have re-watched episodes multiple times. I HAVE NEVER DONE this before for any drama except for Friends. If I start talking about the chemistry between the leads then I won't be able to finish this review. What I like the best here is the confusion/desire/attraction/love is all so innocent and real that it will make you cry and make you remember when you were 17.
If you are planning to watch this series then please go ahead because if you won't then you have missed watching a masterpiece.
The only best thing that happened in 2020 is "I told sunset about you"

10/10 Another masterpiece of Hwang DaSeul
Let Free The Curse Of Taekwondo is so well written, directed and acted. Hwang Daseul surprising us and delivering deep stories with complex and adorable characters.
I must also highlight the excellent performance of Lee Seon, in his first drama. Kim Nu Rim also stood out a lot in his first role as the protagonist, showing how much potential he has.
Nu Rim and Lee Seon delivered such a great chemistry, charisma and outstanding performance.
I hope that many people can see this series that transcends the romance, which touches us and excites us, and makes us eager to look forward to the next episodes.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this series. You have created another beautiful masterpiece!

10/10 How did they do this?
The story is based on a manhwa but in the drama they followed an almost different storyline but not different at the same time. In the manhwa there were no filming scene, no telling Siwon's life through a movie, no Dawoon telling his parents to select the movie and Dawoon's mother was a sweetheart. In the manhwa Siwon was bit more of an a$ $hole and Dawoon was a puppy running after him. In the drama Yoonjung never confessed to Siwon.
The rumour on the internet and Siwon's childhood photo getting leaked was more intense in the manhwa. They handled the situation more savagely. In short the manhwa was more of a them being savage and the drama covers the same thing but a sweet way. That is why they get all the positive feedback from me. The drama and the manhwa both are 10 on 10 in their own way. The awkwardness you can see in Siwon sometimes is because he is awkward in general.
They talk about his in the manhwa. It wasn't them being awkward while acting. When Dawoon dreamed about Siwon after their fight, you can clearly see Siwon being different, as in clingier. The actors did a great job here as well. 10 on 10 again. Also they didn't introduce two important characters which I assume leaves a door for second season.
Or should I say one? The guy singing at the beach is one of them. Siwon and Dawoon's friend Bawoo (the guy with glasses who saved Yoonjung form the stalker) was an out gay in the manhwa and the singer is his love interest. The other one is Dawoon's cousin. They had a lot of history. I'm highly anticipating a second season. They need to cover Dawoon's struggle too. Overall, hats off to the whole team.

10/10 I NEED A SEASON 2 SO BAD
THIS IS SO GOOD and dare I say this kbl has like the best cast ever... They're all so pretty and Joowan's smile is so beautiful I swear u could have the worst day ever and his smile would make ur whole day better
We got Taevin as Myungha and Joowan as Yeowoon as the main cast & Minsu as Sangwon and Woongki as Kyunghoon along with others as the supporting cast.
At first it seems like Myungha has entered some kind of virtual game where his goal is to make Yeowoon happy but by the end It looks like Myungha was just given another chance to life and happiness because of his past life where he committed suicide and ended up regretting it in the last moment I can't believe this finished airing in just 2 weeks.. this series got me so attached to the characters I'm gonna miss my pookies
I really hope to see them again in the
future d

8/10 Truly shoking, yet so addictive
This series is a shocking portrayal of humans' lowest, darkest sides.
It highlights the extraordinary cruelty within the sex industry as the daily occurrence it usually is; very realistically so.
Therefore, this drama comes with a trigger warning in capital letters. Please mind that I do not joke around with these kinds of warning!
Also, in a roundabout way, this should remind you to pay people respect - regardless of their occupation. After all, while most of us have 'respectable' jobs, people easily forget to be thankful for others willing to do those 'not respectable' ones.
Never forget that prostitutes - especially those from sex/ human trafficking - lead a far more dangerous live as they are the ones people with the most dangerous and/or extraordinary kinks go to!
This drama will show you some of those types of kinks - so, if you watch this, take these issues seriously!
Unscrupulous sex traffickers and pimps are represented in ways so real you will need a moment for yourself after each gruesome episode. It will remind you that we are all really privileged no matter how 'ordinary' our life might seem.
I was truly impressed in the best worst ways.

who is paradoxically pink here?
Not having read the original manga, i can't tell the extent to which the storyline has been adapted. Most viewers claim absence of harmlessly fatal banters (laughs) and complained of shallow interactions between the leads. This short series on V:ki took me too long to complete. I would blame the cinematography because journalism was different from it's contemporaries as a premise, years ago. However the narrative contained typical elements like reserved and disciplined passive partner, cynical and carefree aggressive partner who flirts women prior to realizing his feelings for his colleague. An EXILE enthusiast pointed out that the agencies of Keito and Yutaro respectively, planned their promotion outside the insular country hence opted a BI.
Fortunately, they won't be dragged into toxic shipping culture owing to no stipulated work partnership contracts.
Opening theme song is playful and slow unlike most J series.
The chemistry between main leads neither impressed nor disappointed me thus i can't recommend this series..... gomen.

10/10 Have tissue ready.
As with most Japanese BLs the storyline is amazing. I assume there is lots of Japanese culture brought to life in the approach being made in this story. You will learn by episode 1 or 2 one of the main leads dies. The way he still interacts in the story is where the Japanese culture part comes through. There is a similar storyline in HP series when talking about the deathly hallows, so it's not as creepy as it sounds (I have seen negative reviews addressing this).
This is a love story that gives a chance, their "miracle", to love to the fullest with their remaining time. Be prepared to cry, a lot.

9/10 So00000 cute! Love love love!
This drama was absolutely adorable. It's hard for me to watch Japanese BL's and rate them so high mainly because Japanese BL's can be. dragged out a lot. But this drama was so cute. There was great character development and it didn't feel dragged out at all. Although I do have the say the last episode didn't make any sense to me but I let it slide because the couple is so cute. I liked the whole idea of the bad luck thing. The honesty and love it all. And the way Naoya looked at (I forgot his name..) was so adoring to watch. I loved it so much. The look of love is what it was really about. Overall great drama. Loved it a lot.

10/10 Outstanding drama; one of the best BL dramas.
A truly outstanding drama. Complex, emotional, affirming and very well executed. The story of first love, lost then found, told over a decade. Starts with a declaration of finding first love, and then goes back a decade of backstory.
Reveals itself to be a complex, innocent, quite dark at times, but always with a sweet overtone. It then ultimately is a story of finding, losing and regaining that love.
Performances are exceptional, across all characters, but the leads are outstanding (both as teenagers and adults).
Completely believable, totally compelling. The ten year span allows for dramatic use of the changing norms. The sincerity of the storytelling is powerfully done.

10/10 A must watch
The acting is amazing. The characters are so endearing and likeable, the music is beautiful and memorable and the script is poetic.
I had no clue what I was getting into watching this drama, but if you love K-Dramas, then you'll love this J-Drama about two college students that bond over food and forge a friendship and romance against the odds. It's a wonderful, heartwarming journey that' have you smiling, laughing and crying nearly every episode.
This short series based on a manga series by the same name is so easy to get into, due to engaging and relatable situations and acting that rivals many Academy award winning roles, I wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful series to anyone that loves stories of deep friendship, and love. I'm hoping for a Season 2!

7/10 Stay Hopeful After The Rain
This Japanese BL series tells a story about two twenty something guys who used to be high school friends. The story unfolds as one of them confessed his feelings that he used to bury along with their past. The plot of this series was simple but powerful. It was well directed and acted. It has a good ending and not boring at all. Definitely one you should put on your watch list.

On When It Rains, It Pours Apr 23, 2026
10/10 A sad slow sweet burn
Brilliant naunced acting, great directing. Captures beautifully how love can grow out of shared pain. Hagiwara is so well portrayed that a viewer can not only feel his torment, but fall more than a little in love with his striking beauty, care for others and sensitivity.
Sei is more complex... harder to warm to until you realise that he's like that from loss and trauma, and his reserve barely holds his inner torment in check. The viewer wants them both to have something better, but asks at first..."but is this it?"
"....until one sees the effects of shared care and
tenderness on them both.
I actually had to re-watch to truly appreciate it because it's all so finely naunced... so don't watch unless you are prepared to give it your full attention!
The only negative I have is that after seeing all that and growing to feel for them both, I wanted to see more at the end of their healing together. It felt like it ended 15 minutes early.
Such a shame that there is no translation of the novel, ! would love to read it in English. Hint!!!

7110 Call Him Yuki Already!
This is not the first Japanese BL series about actors and film making. But this is the first one which digs deeper into the film making factor. And the knowledge about it makes the plot even more interesting. The acting was decent, the plot was straight forward without any major plot twist and it has a happy ending. There's only a simple plot twist which can already be successfully guessed by the audience at least I did). The main leads developed a great chemistry, although when it comes to the intimate scenes, something was missing. The story was sweet and enjoyable, although there's something that's still bothering me till the end. Why Asami kept calling him Shirasaki-kun, when Yuki already called him by his first name? In my opinion, this is one of the many things that made things a little awkward.

8/10 Goblin Love Story!? .... BL!?
This has to be one of my favorite KBL's of all time. It really took me by surprise. While the production quality may not be perfect, it's also not bad in the slightest.
The plot is actually very intriguing, and the plot twist-UGH! loved it. The acting is good, the chemistry is there, and the kisses!! I always find myself praising KBL's when they don't do the dead fish kiss.
I think they did a really good job with each characters backstories, the evil spirit was also a fun aspect. One thing is that the last episode felt a bit rushed, I wish there was more time to resolve everything.
Overall, this series was so funny and so entertaining, I'm really glad I watched this and I hope for a second season.
