They haven’t yet shown us the full story of how WZS lost his memories and turned into a child. But I think it happened after the battle with the Former Cat Lord. During that fight, the Sinister Fiend Infant lost both his body and his core, leaving only his spirit trapped inside the Bone Relic, which was buried in the earth. Later, it resurfaced in the mortal world with the help of the fruit.
As for WZS, I believe he was also gravely injured. Because of that injury, he lost his memories along with part of his demonic powers. And since his master had lost his core, WZS also lost his powerful demon form and was reduced to a child with no recollection of his past. Now that the Bone Relic has helped his master’s spirit break free, WZS has regained both his memories and his powers.
One more thing: WZS is not a half-demon—he has been a full demon since birth. It’s only WZ who is a half-demon.

On episode 28, MZY sets up a formation for the Sinister Fiend Infant. A black spirit emerges from the Demon Market and enters the formation he arranged. Later, MZY, HY, and NL go to Ruyi Pavilion to search for demons. Meanwhile, HZ is in her demon form. WZS tries to heal her, but the noise she makes is overheard by MZY, who enters the room—only to be shocked by what he sees.
In episode 29, MZY receives a message—likely from SJ—and quickly leaves. He arrives at the entrance of the Demon Market, where he uncovers WZ’s true identity. The two engage in a fight, and MZY ultimately holds his sword to her neck.
