Yeah, exactly I think it makes sense for them to be awkward at this point, especially with how their relationship started. I just hope that once their feelings actually develop, the intimacy changes too, because that’s when the chemistry really needs to come through

Honestly, I’ve been feeling the same way lately and I don’t really enjoy that many Thai BLs anymore But I do think this year has been different. There have been quite a few Thai and Chinese BLs that really stood out and ended up being some of the best shows for me. But yeah, at the end of the day, it all comes down to personal taste!

I’d also recommend You Maniac, Match Point, Duang With You, Love Upon a Time, MuTeLuv: Love Me If You Swear, The Sun from Another Star, The Edge of Horizon, Ticket to Heaven, Me and Thee, and My Romance Scammer. Honestly, there are SO many good Thai BLs this year that it’s hard to pick just a few

Yeah, that’s fair I really hope they improve with the later episodes. I don’t mind waiting for them to get more comfortable, because when the chemistry feels natural, it makes such a huge difference

Honestly, you’ve missed quite a few I’d say check out Nour, Deep In, and You Maniac. Thai BLs have really been on a roll this year, especially when it comes to chemistry and interesting plots

Yeah, I actually agree with a lot of what you said I feel like Thai BLs have been doing really well this year, but Chinese BLs have also been standing out a lot. I especially agree about the different styles between countries. That’s honestly one of my favorite things about BL because every industry has its own way of telling stories. Japanese BLs usually have that softer and more realistic feeling, while Korean BLs can be really hit or miss for me. Taiwanese BLs used to be one of my favorites too, so I really hope we get some stronger projects from them soon. And Chinese BLs… honestly, nobody does complicated, messy and completely unhinged relationships quite like them the plots can get absolutely insane, but that’s exactly what makes them so entertaining

Exactly! It’s not even about how explicit the scene is, it’s about the chemistry and how comfortable they feel with each other. That’s what makes an NC scene actually work

Honestly, I don’t think the NC scenes are as good as people make them out to be The kisses feel really awkward and forced to me. It’s not about them being passionate or not, I just wish the chemistry and intimacy felt more natural. Sometimes it genuinely feels like they’re uncomfortable, and that takes me out of the scene. Having NC scenes is nice, but they don’t automatically make a BL good the chemistry has to be there too
