I think the introduction of the side characters is what happened. They came out of nowhere and we are forced to watch entire ep around side characters stories. We were invested in her family and we were ready to see payback but we just have to go through these new families and their issues. It’s slowing us down even if those families have a purpose. I think if they showed us a little about those side characters throughout the first episodes, it wouldn’t feel so foreign.

Fu Ling Zhi stole ep 23 with her acting today, talking about we both lost our mothers 😭😭🤧. Her little speech hit me right in the feelings.

If not from this era, a the one i can think of is “maid’s revenge” that was decent even though the ml also got on my nerves with his behavior.

I believe you. It was just too suffocating to me, especially that I was not “prepared” ahead of time for his personality. I probably won’t pick the drama up again but glad to know it got better.

I didn’t read the novel but I think it would have been best to stick to the novel.

Maybe the romance tag for this drama is not for fl and ml relationship but between fl and chai jing.

It’s so unfortunate. The fact that the little girl can see that the dad is sad but “college educated” grown up can’t sense his sadness is ridiculous. The leads are both miserable, why can’t they just communicate? It’s frustrating.

I’m sure Deng has a purpose but did we need an entire episode focused on them? Idk

I think we should forget about the romance or lower our expectations to the point that we’ll be happy with them holding hands while smiling at each other 🙃. I was hoping for swoon worthy romance with proper revenge.

I think we will have that “unsatisfied/incomplete” feeling at the end of the drama. I’m sensing the important parts of the plots will be rushed. They are trying to fit a lot into a short amount of screen time.

Right! If they don’t want to give us romance, at least give proper revenge development. We got invested with evil dad storyline, why bring up storylines from characters we didn’t know nor care about?

Today's ep was no better than the previous 2. I’ll let this drama pile up, hopefully the writing gets back on track.

Idk why they served us useless episode about that family Chen/Deng storyline. That time could have been use to improve the bonds between the leads (can they warm up to each other a little already ?)or craft proper revenge plan.

Something happened in the last 4 ep, not sure what but the dynamic of the drama is not like before.

For real, plus what they’ve been serving us lately are episodes of nothing. Talk about adding insult to injury.
