so are we just gonna ignore that he literally raped him? ughh now before you come at me saying it's DaRk RoMaNcE,…
I don't mind it when it happens in fiction, but it has to have consequences. In this case, I really don't get why it was necessary. It brought nothing to the plot, and Yichen wasn't even angry about it?? Like, he seemed more upset about the ridiculous drunk situation with that other guy; it didn't look like anyone gave rape a thought, which is deeply confusing.
So Fan Xiao drugged both You Shu Lang and Lu Zhen (barely adult btw) and molested You Shu Lang. He didn't molested…
Fan Xiao is definitely an actual red flag, not a watered-down version most shows tend to portray :D So yeah, definitely not for everyone. He gets even worse later before slowly trying to become better, and while I love him, a ton of his actions aren't forgivable.
On ep. 4 and find it very underwhelming so far:( It's absolutely unclear what these characters like about each other, they have basically no personal traits, especially the younger one. He's just there to play a part. Most of their problems are unrealistic as hell and can be solved just by basic talking. Miscommunication can be a thing, but it's ridiculous here, imo. As for flashbacks, the pace was so quick that I had no time to process the emotions before they changed again, which left me cold. The secondary couple came out of nowhere and Yi Chen is walking with a dead, exhausted face nearly from the very start. In the trailer, I thought it would happen later, after all the terrible things start piling up, so I was hyped; seeing it at this stage already devalues it to me. It's sad, I had such high expectations.
Im soooo happy for this special episode, it give closure and knowing Shou Lang with soo kind and gentle words…
In the novel, Lu Zhen attends Fan Xiao and You Shulang's wedding (because Fan Xiao made sure to invite all his love rivals); he doesn't let himself be seen, just drops the gift and then goes to a car where an older man is waiting for him. So it's implied that he did find a relationship.
When will the second special episode drop as from the trailer we had a birthday scene and also a scene where fan…
He spent 3 months in prison; then another 3 months on the run. It was said that he didn't come for You Shulang immediately after that because he was still worried about his safety; in addition, he didn't want to make his renewed stalking obvious, so while he moved to You Shulang's city and district, he didn't seek him out on purpose. So I guess this was another 2-3 months. In total, they spent almost a year without contact (about 9 months from the moment of arrest + 3 months You Shulang had spent working on the project right before that).
Am I the only one who balled my eyes out when Shulang healed Fan Xiao with his beautiful words and helped him…
This was amazing. So thoughtful and so beautiful. My loved one has become a part of the sea a while ago, and I always felt like she was now embodying it. But this idea felt so distant and vague; when Shulang talked to Fan Xiao, it suddenly gained form and clarity, so I was deeply moved both for myself and for Fan Xiao. A brilliant episode.
Best scenes, 1. A crew member trying desperately to stop an impeding couple from walking into shot.2. A couple…
From what I understand about the concept of special episodes, they are not meant to be actual substance-filled episodes. They are just an extra layer of fluff, a slice of life, a gift to the fans. The ones I watched are entirely meaningless (thinking of My Stubborn here), they all are just for fun.
Imo, To My Shore has the best and the most meaningful special episode in this regard, though it's still just a slice of life. It's filmed differently and it feels differently, but that's the point.
Sorry you didn't enjoy it; to me, it was nearly everything, although I do wish we got some deeper kisses :D These two can do them so well.
It still amazes me how this series managed to feel so intense and intimate at the same time. A lot of BLs rely…
Absolutely, I couldn't have said it better. 15 episodes left me feeling bittersweet; now, with this special episode, I finally feel so much lighter and happier. There is so much meaning in every scene; these characters work beautifully on every single level. I've never seen shows of this kind of emotional and psychological quality; they think of the tiniest nuances here, and this makes everything feel so real and so raw and so wonderful. I will never stop loving them. The series that can be rewatched for eternity.
The first special episode was absolutely beautiful. Masterfully done, so touching and so amazing that I can't stop smiling. As someone whose loved one is also a part of the sea now, I appreciated Shulang's healing words so much. Fan Xiao is as jealous as ever; I can't get enough of it, he's still so obsessed with Shulang. Also, I got such a huge kick out of witnessing Lu Zhen seeing them happy together, I was really missing this scene from the main series. Love Shi Lihua's appearance, love them being so close, love the kissing and the music, and the final scene is so emotional and brilliant. This absolutely made my work-filled day!
