They gradually fall in love but evidently ML admits feelings for her around chapter 119ish? confesses around chapter 214 (but if i'm not wrong fl kind of turns him down bc of her revenge plan) and continues all the way to the end.
I personally think the ending is great, after revenge arc finishes we have about 15+ chapters until they get married + extra chapter for other characters.

OH! Got it got it, I haven't read that one yet but I think ML here is better(?) I really like the lead's bantering here.

Hii! Personally for me ML could be considered a green flag, he may be "ruthless" or nicknamed "the king of hell" but that's entirely because of his position as a commander. ML and FL start of as suspicious towards eachother, though ML still treats FL well and protects her.

The novel itself because the author is Qian Shan Cha Ke (original author of the double, the glory, lotfg) you can expect a revenge driven plot? Focuses most on FL. Both ML and FL are quick-witted and smart. The romance is considered a slow-burn one.
I do think the novel is a bit wordy but I think you can give it a try!

But i think they're were acquainted because of their parents how to explain it FL's mom divorced and had multiple relationships before moving in with ML's dad (like the maternal relationship is much further than SAL) not sure if they got married or not but because FL and ML go to the same school they had more interaction even if it was brief, they weren't close but ML was older than her and kind of took care of her even that's why in the synopsis it's said they had to depend on eachother. It's not really step-siblings but I personally still consider it step-siblings hehe

From what I read ML's dad and FL's mom were together, so they spent atleast a few years with eachother before they're parents divorce
