Agreed, definitely very lazy writing. Also the fact that there was literally NOTHING to foreshadow, everything was so very predictable and the viewers knew everything all along, even the leads. Definitely one of most anticlimactic dramas I’ve ever watched

Literally!! Can we have a few smart villains for once?? The fact that they didn’t make XZ or FCY break a sweat even once is insane. The cinematography, chemistry and FCY (esp her characterization) and XZ are the only saving graces of the drama, defo not the plot. I really miss the first few eps their time in Lin’an felt more intriguing than the capital arc

yeah me too, he’s known as a cold and feared general so seeing his vulnerable moments break that front and show that’s he’s also human. I think it makes him a really good male lead

Highkey the rebellion was SO disappointing like wdym qi min planned for 6 years for treason but he relied on the fact that xie Zheng would help him not prime minister Wei??? And the fact that his brain suddenly switched off when he was surrounded like r u telling me this was the result of you planning for 6 years??? I swear this rebellion was so predictable and uninteresting cuz it lasted like max 20mins, no high stakes, no one dying they just being some soldiers and quell it. I like prime minister wei he had some brains but even he disappointed me like wdym u had no other plan when u were about to commit something as big as treason with xie Zheng as your enemy??? Utterly stupid. I swear none of the villains have any brain. Even though the plot was such a turn off I still love my man ZLH and TXW’s chemistry, truly made the whole drama amazing as well as the cinematography.

I wanted to watch the leaked eps but the MTL is so bad I'm racking my brains I’d rather wait till everything’s officially released. Even though I’m absolutely obsessed with this drama rn 😢
