ngl the pacing can be a bit boring and i may or may not have used the 1.25x button but i still finished it because who wouldnt want to look at zhang wan yi and wang chu ran’s visuals!!! it’s insane!!! theyre both so beautiful 🥹
when i first saw this comment i was like HUUUH? and when i finished watching the drama, i just knew. HAHAHA it's one of those if you know you know moments
just finished all episodes and i felt like something inside me is healed!!!!!!!!!! 10/10 drama for me. im so sad i only watched it now. i dont see this drama being recommended as much as others and i initially watched it only bc i know lu yuxiao is in it but omygod this is my first zhang jingyi drama and shes soooo beautiful and i loveeed her acting here. her character in this drama is also just so so awesome. i think hua zhi is one of my faves everrrr now. the story is really good it's what kept me going! i dont think i ever used the 1.5x speed and thats how i know im fully immersed in the story. alsooo i think the name Blossoms in Adversity really fits the drama. that phrase is like the summarized version of the story loool. also also!! i love each character!!! and even though theyre supporting roles they acted really well too. some episodes made me ugly cry, which is the first time in a while!!! ugh!! EVERYONE IF YOU'RE CONTEMPLATING WHETHER TO WATCH THIS OR NOT PLEASE PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND WATCH IT!!! i honestly felt like 40 episodes isnt enough i wanted to watch them for 40 plus more huhuhuhu. OH AND IF YOURE WATCHING THIS FOR THE ROMANCE i dont think youll be fully satisfied because i feel like the romance is like only a subplot(?) of the story BUT I SWEAR THE STORY ITSELF IS AMAZING!!!!!! pls watch it and fangirl with me!!!! ps: sorry for the rumblings i really am so happy about this drama and also so sad that i finished it in like 3 days. huhuhu
- i like the story enough to keep me going - i was rooting for the SML (zhang zhe) so much for the first half of the series that i will definitely watch unveil jadewind after that airs just so i can see bai lu and wang xingyue together - i was not convinced of the main leads’ romance bc i feel like they didnt build it enough to make it make sense in my head, how the obsession of the ML started, when did FML start developing her feelings for the ML etc. I think i wouldve been more into it if we got more episodes focusing on them after the rebellion/coup happened, some cute romantic scenes here and there, but ig the romance(?) aspect is not what the directors wanted to focus on.. idk - the death of fangyin was so unnecessary imo even her death scene feels ridiculous for me i hated that they did that. wdym you couldve gotten away if only u didnt cling onto that guy? im not convinced shes that stupid - i wanted more of their life after they resolved the main problem with the rebellion/coup, i wouldve loved to see xuening’s father’s reaction to their relationship and how he accepted it, how life is like for yan lin, princess shiyi, and zhang zhe etc. Just one ep focused on those wouldve been enough for me tbh. i feel like i am owed that after all the things theyve been thru haha - overall still a good watch for meee i think bai lu is naturally so pretty and zhang linghe and wang xingyue is like rlly handsome lol. i loved looking at their faces. i rate SOKP 8.5/10
13 episodes in and i am shipping xuening and zhang zhe soooo hard 😠i cant even feel the chemistry or tension between xuening and xie wei yet….. how long do i have to wait?? will i be left with second lead syndrome after i finish this drama sksksks
i just finished it in like 4 days and i liked it very much!!! someone pls suggest something similar or atleast something as interesting as this drama so i can move on and not feel too sad 🥹🥹🥹
their chemistry is insaneeeee i love that both of them knows how to act act lol. storywise, nothing extraordinary but it was put together well, the pacing is nice, the visuals are nice. ost is amazing as well. must watch for those transitioning from kdramas to cdrams imo!!!
i watched this bc i saw clips of hou minghao and i was blown away by his visuals i was literally this emoji :o but by the time i finished the story, i was so captivated by lu yuxiao's beauty and charm!!! i was expecting to be obsessed with hou minghao but ended up falling in love with her instead!!!
this drama is sooooo good and im mad at myself for only starting *seriously* watching chinese dramas this year!!!
the story is nothing shocking or special but the pacing is well done and we got to see each character's ending wrapped up nicely compared to other cdramas ive watched where the ending feels so rushed and we really only got to see the main leads' ending.
10/10 drama for me. must watch for someone starting their cdrama journey imo!
