Making the ML drink that love potion 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ It's not looking good atm at all. Hopefully…
After episode 7 I was invested again, and it didn't disappoint. Yes, Yun Na was cheating, but before Sin Yu knew about it, he was already thinking of cheating himself. So I think we can say he cheated after the fact (still cheating), but he had been looking to end things way before; she was just clingy af. So I understand people not really liking this because of that aspect, ultimately glorifying cheating and calling it "fate." But I look past these things because it's K-drama.
What I look for is if the story-writing is compelling enough to overlook certain flaws and if the actors (mainly the leads but some supporting cast) are executing that story very well, and this didn't disappoint in the latter, and the former just had minor details that I mentioned but didn't really take away from the main plot.
Jo Bo-ah, as always since her debut, is fantastic as an actress and sold her character for me. Our ML Ro Woon, my first intro to him, and he was a great match for her, and their chemistry was solid off the bat, even though I kind of hated the love potion thing at first in the beginning, but ultimately it didn't matter. The other leads and cast really did well too. But one thing that bugged me and still is, how did Na Jung Beom get his hands on spells or even know about them? And was it the love potion that made him crazy, or did he just legit think Hong Jo looked like his dead wife? Plot holes were bound to exist in this sort of drama, but everything else was very good.
Overall, besides these aspects, I mentioned one important factor that supersedes most of all I said: enjoyment. If I don't enjoy it, I can never rate it no matter what. So I gave this a 9/10 purely from the acting and execution from our leads, their chemistry, and my overall enjoyment of the drama. Really glad I finally watched this after putting it off for so long, and it was really worth it for me. This is probably enough for a review, so I'll just write this as my very first ever review on MDL; it deserves that.
I can nitpick about the storyline and plot holes that didn't make sense, but ultimately what sells a completely lackluster storyline will always be the acting, and the cast didn't disappoint for me, especially Park Bo-young, our FL. I've been a fan of hers since Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and she didn't disappoint in this. Then our ML, Seo In Guk, my second intro to him since "The Master's Sun."
Then our 2nd ML, Lee Soo Hyuk, my first intro to him, and I'm quite shocked that he rarely has main roles, which is quite odd cos he impressed me in this show, so I expected he'd be in more main roles, but when I checked his list, I was quite surprised he mostly does supporting roles. Anyway, his agency needs to fix up fr.
Including the other supporting cast, all made me invested in the show. Cos of that, I gave the show an 8.5/10 rating. The writing would've made it a 9.5 (no show can get a 10 imo, cos no show is that perfect lol), but I quite enjoyed it cos of all I've just listed.
So if you're a fan of these actors, then ignore the writing or at least try to and stick around for their performances, cos they were all very good in this.
Episode 3: Now I'm afraid that thing to hook me hasn't been done yet; instead, it's kinda losing me, and people…
Yeah, I'll have to agree with you. Literally the last episode was when they got together, and I saw no kiss scenes (not that pecking on the lips they kept doing every time that lasted for 40 secs).
I'm used to ML's not being likeable; it's not what I didn't like, but everything else you said I agree with 100%. It was just a massive letdown for me, unfortunately. Rated a generous 7/10 cos i watched So ji Sub in "Oh My Venus," and i just like him as an actor and i didn't hate the FL as well

Nah, I finished it, but it wasn't worth the hype, I'll tell you that much. Not in the same stratosphere as My Love from the Star that people keep comparing it to. It did have its moments, tho.
wow the entire comment section is unanimous on one thing: the female lead 😂😂 i was going to watch it for the ml but now how am i supposed to root for the leads getting together with all i'm seeing here
Episode 1 and this hasn't hooked me yet, and I came here after watching My Love from the Star cos it was recommended,…
Episode 3: Now I'm afraid that thing to hook me hasn't been done yet; instead, it's kinda losing me, and people have been calling this show a very good show.
So I'll respectfully wait until the 5th episode to see if I'll drop it or not. To me, I feel like i'm just postponing the inevitable
Episode 1 and this hasn't hooked me yet, and I came here after watching My Love from the Star cos it was recommended, but that one hooked me from the very 1st episode
Keep seeing people commenting how it hooked them from the 1st episode, but it hasn't yet for me. Hopefully, that changes soon.
My first introduction to Jun Ji-hyun was Tempest, and yet I didn't know I was missing a gem. No wonder people rave about her. 9/10 and i don't need to talk much, actually.
In episode 4 i'm loving this drama 😂😂 it's too funny and L currently is stealing the show from shin hae…
So I finally completed it, and I wanted more from that finale, icl. Gave it an 8.5/10 just cos of that. The show could have been a 9 or 10 if only the finale had more to offer. I didn't hate it; neither did I love it. It was just neutral, but overall I really loved the show. L really showed he's good
Big fan of Park Shin Hye in this; she's a really good actress, and it's the first time I've seen her in something like this. Enjoyed it overall mainly cos of her, obviously, and she quite literally stole the show. 8/10 for me, and it needs a 2nd season fr
This turned into a comedy wait too fast 😂😂😂 but wierdly enjoyed it. The sex scenes were shot really lol and there were a lot surprisingly. From violating the girls to being violated by them. What a movie

Very weird ending. Probably need to read the manga to truly understand it
