maybe the target audiences for her characters are limit but there is a market for it that’s why they cast her for a reason . however if you read the novel . her character portrayal actually less exaggerated than in the novel .

I think lwx character allows Esther to show different side of her acting however lwx isn’t totally different from her previous roles . she is a lively and cheerful person but dealing with depression and past trauma. This drama really direct her character and back storyline badly . Audiences don’t even notice that she always consumes high calorie foods due to stress react and when the school director asks about her past she shows sign of trouble sleeping . I would like to see Esther in a totally opposite character than her famous roles . I have a strong filter for her because I watched a political drama years ago and she was the cunning princess in it . I hate her there and she always in my favorite Wuxia mjty . I know she’s capable but she gets popular because of cute and quirky roles so she chooses this route . Her next drama is a revenge drama so I’m looking forward to see how she portrays her character there .

juli is structurally important to the FL’s characterization. The ML already has family and a best friend who give his character a life and relationships outside the romance, while the FL needs Juli to provide that same sense of a personal world. Without Juli, the FL can feel like she exists mainly in relation to the ML, which weakens her role as a lead.
