A very valid and compelling point of view. I can feel for what she is aiming to do. I was half a mind to think the same. She would be scared of the replications for her son. After all in those times he could be killed for half the feelings and emotions he has.
I do agree beatings like that did happen, however to leave a child with open wounds like that in that day and age, it's a neglect they wouldn't see as normal. Right? Especially without antibiotics to treat infections. At least after she would have been the one to clean the wounds for him and cover them. That was one part of her character that made be question just recently her mindset.

Impressive. You can read that deep into it, that is a valid character analysis. I just haven't seen her display a insecurity yet mostly just repeating the rules over and over to her son. She does look worried and conflicted at times. It will be interesting to see going forward what motivates her. For now I can only comment on the times we know they live in. But because we are already having such discussion only on the first ep, I can tell it's going to be a interesting. Enjoy it ❤️

She knows that dream only cause pain, and given the times she would know what most men do to gay men. 💀She is harsh because she doesn't want her son crushed. It's one good point they are laying on thick with her character, that the social norm needs to change and we will see that drama unfold I am sure
