You have to understand her goal was never to choose one over the other, she’s trying to fix a dead-end situation where someone always ends up dying. She’s doing everything she can to break that cycle and save both of them. And yes, she actually found out that Jiling could fight the drought through the ring, which is exactly why she took it, she was ready to die in his place🤦‍♀️ But Jiling already foresaw that and planned to change it too, so in the end, both of them are sacrificing themselves not just for each other, but for the whole world.

That interpretation doesn’t even make sense. It’s actually luwuyi who endures the real burden. She is the one who repeatedly experiences the heartbreak of losing her sister many times, feeling that soul-crushing, bone-piercing pain over and over again. She literally burns through her own life just to try to reach a perfect ending where both her sister and the people she loves can survive, that’s all she wants.
