I wish Ming Yi had be honest but at least now she isn't a paw in Ji Bo Zai schemes. Now he sees her as a partner
I haven’t watched the new episodes yet, but if she’s still lying to him, then it means that while JBZ sees her as a partner, he’s still just a pawn in MY’s schemes. :/ Even more unfair, considering his sincerity.
I thought the revelation that MY is not what she seems to JBZ will be much grander or sth, but everything happened…
I don’t agree. She became friends with the 2ml as a child, and now with the dancer too, this shows her social skills are fine. She even trusted the 2ml enough to not try so hard to hide the truth when he discovered her identity. So her trust issues don’t seem that deep. And even after living as a man her whole life, she seems fully comfortable as a woman. So she’s been free, to some degree, to be herself.
Meanwhile, the male lead won’t even eat or drink what others touch. His trust was completely shattered by something in his past. And yet, he opened up to her, only because he loves her and she broke him.
Everything suggests his trauma on trust is greater than hers. He had doubts too, but still chose to trust her because of love.
Now, she knows he’s a good man, she knows he loves her and he faced his greatest trauma for her so if she doesn't do the same but lies to him now, there’s no trauma excuse for her. If she loves him and still chooses to lie, that would be cruel. And if she doesn’t love him and still lie, after everything he’s done to prove his love, it’s still cruel.
I think it was more of a collaborative credit then GJM writing everything. So the source of the “everyone says…
GJM preferred an actor from his own agency. It's showbiz. It's still cruel so I understand why so many complain but I don’t understand why so many feel the need to defend this.
That is not a behavior that must be elevated through the excuse of creative purity. Especially when we are not talking of a penniless, idealistic hippie but of a creative figure that built an entire business empire on it. And certainly not out of simple and pure idealistic creativity.
I dont find the age gap an issue as much as i did have an issue with her "acting " the part immaturely.…
I really like this, the way you described the fl feels very accurate to me. She's mature for her age, yet still a young girl who carries the innocence and hope typical of that stage in life, even after everything she’s been through. She shows that more childish side specifically with the ml, exactly because he’s more mature and gives her a sense of protection and security.
I agree about the second couple too, I like them a lot, but the logic for their relationship feels a bit forced/unnatural to me.
Here’s for a rewatch. It’s truly an amazing drama. The part I love the most is the little moments when the ml goes around helping people with small gestures. So moving, and the entire drama is just so good.
That will always come down to personal taste, but if you like CY and you like beautiful fights then yes, if you…
I understand your point. I’m watching this for CY, but aside from his character, and maybe a couple of others, the rest feel a little flat in their characterization and seem to act out of obligation to the plot rather than for any logical or coherent emotional reason. I’m hopeful this will improve, and I’m looking forward to the second half offering some explanations even for the many mysteries this drama has.
