im backing this 100% 🤣even here several times i wished she could disown her flower glazer (i'd say bookworm but he's more a regular worm) and adopt zhao ling instead. he's smarter, cuter, braver, loyal, listens to advice and loves her preferred daughter in law instead of glazing random flowers coming his way.

and also deal with his own ptsd and whatever politics he got roped into that keeps putting him on the spot and tryna take their heads on a daily basis without letting it affect the idol fantasy romance attitude towards his lover in anyway or for any duration hahaha seems to be the expectation here.
