i second this. we can see the progression in their *relationship* clearly.
plus this drama somehow has better story telling than archives even with only 20 min each ep.

General Chen and Secretary Xu, backed by the British. they framed shaoshang's father because he always play it safe and being neutral. plus with shaoshang love for antiques, its like killing two birds with a stone since they hated him for revealing their crime from solving cases with yuan hong.

its really really good.. there isnt a single boring ep..

This is why c-(b)romance is superior. Only with those eyes and light touches you certainly can feel the tension.
Its been a while since i've seen a good 20min cdrama.. no choppy editing, the sets and wardrobes..plus the cases are really interesting too . And the chemistry was 🥵
One thing im not satisfied with is, its an OE.. i get it its better than a SE, still with Yuan Hong not knowing that our Xiao Ye is still alive kinda upsets me...
Please director-nim.. can we have a special ep or something.. better yet a 2nd season ;)

dare i say ; when we talk about cdrama, esp when it comes to double male lead (iykyk), this one has the most proper ending...the way it gives us hope by letting them meet again, (they even exchange contact no😉) and that in the future both of them may become friends again..ahh my hearteuuu 🥹

my thought while watching the drama:
the writers seem to lost track of their writing, and have no direction whatsoever how to complete the story.
yes, a SE doesnt necessarily means a bad ending, but they just kill the characters here and there, tuned them out without proper explanation, that definitely a lazy writer would do..

and btw, the most disgusted character of the year goes to Zhong Chun Ji. she clearly knew her master's killer, yet she agreed to play along with the villain just to protect her fake identity..with her fake tears and no remorse on her part..her master's sacrifice wasted just like that, even Liu Yan admit his mistake at the end and apologized to TLC...

from the most recent ep, we know the reason behind TLC's food map..by visiting the popular restaurants with good food, he's hoping to reunite with Xiao Fu...ahhh my hearteuu..

throughout the drama:
other people: 1 costume (or maybe 3)
TLC: change costume every 2 ep..😉
not complaining though..his costumes really are beautiful

i found the ML interaction with the villain is way more cuter than the romance part and that says a lot.. a good actor/actress will be able to create a good chemistry with anyone, no matter what role they're playing..

wdym fast paced? they only have 1 villain from the start till the end. and thats 16 eps..yeah, she went to the bad guy's lair, but she still need saving.. she'd be dead if not for that Russian thug (Leo). not that she went back home winning by herself..
