Where to begin, I have to remember that this is being written by a young man who is the main lead in this venture, his own venture. Zhang Ruo Yun did amazing! Since this is my first time viewing his acting abilities, this drama series makes me want to see more of him in other projects he has done already. I always say that a movie or drama series doesn't become a hit without the rest of the cast and in this series they were all amazing. The visual with the wall was genius!

I only had one quip of the storyline and that is... listen... I know men will be men but dang mostly in every drama I have seen, only two dramas men were loyal to the woman they love. The flirting mentality of a man I ask why all the teasing and temptations of different women in front of them when the character already is committed to one? I would love to see a drama series more than ONCE that a man is loyal to Love such as 10 miles of Peach Blossom (Eternal Love) or Legend of Fu Yao! I would love to see this in "Joy of Life"! This is just my opinion.

I know Joy of Life will be a great hit and have seen that it has already started winning awards for that Thank you!

Another William Chan brilliant acting. Again, his passion shines through in the character he plays and makes that person so believable. The storyline was great, this drama won an award for Outstanding Drama of the Year, I can understand why. Bai Bai He did awesome, my first time seeing her in a drama series. I will be checking her out more. I noticed that she rather chooses movie projects rather than drama series. It's all good. The Romantic Chemistry between William Chan and Bai Bai He definitely was there... but who couldn't resist William Chan... (side pun). The storyline, the visuals, and the Martial Art scenes were on point. I thank all the "Only Side by Side with You" team which is everyone who worked on this project.

This was such a romantic and emotional drama. Another KDrama with excellent main leads playing and telling a great story. I loved Yang Se Jong in "My Country" and I loved him in this drama. I am so glad I got to watch this. Yang looked different in this drama vs My Country, but still awesome and I know he can play the part that is given to him. Shin Hye Sun I have watched several of the KDramas she played in. Shin Hye Sun is also another excellent actress. I loved the 3 college students and my favorite actress in the Kdrama is (roll drum) Ye Ji Won, I mean she played her character "Jennifer" ON POINT! I laughed so hard when Yoo Chan referred to maid Jennifer as a walking Google.

I love the story this Kdrama tells. This is the first that I've come across that tells this type of story regarding close friendships and a close-knit storyline. The writers capture what growing up together in the same city and in the same neighborhood. These friendships can tear each other apart by jealousy and deceit for sure. All the secrets and games one pulls off in friendship. Woo Do-Hwan and Joy did awesomely and the chemistry was there. In matter of fact, all the cast did well. The emotions were driving me crazy! I'm glad that it ended well so thank you screen writers.

Not the ending I would've wanted!

So I rewatch this Kdrama again on 11/16/2019. I love Lee Joon Gi. The fight for the throne amongst the brothers when they started becoming adults was a steady game. Li Joon Gi played his part very well and the idea of having a scar on his face... he pulled it off with his acting abilities. Lee Joon Gi's martial arts was absolutely bad a__. Actually, his martial art was a 10 by itself. IU who plays Hae Soo was very emotional but she did well. The first time I watch this I just couldn't connect with her but this time I did connect with her. Now the storyline, I don't know what I was thinking when I first watch this. I wished this had a better ending and that is the reason why I brought it down to 8 stars. The story where Hae Soo married his younger brother and had a baby where did the time go that not unless that was Wang So's baby got me all confused and Wang So married that horrifying Woo Hee princess. That part didn't make any sense to me for like 3 episodes. I was not happy with the ending at all. Sorry to the screenwriter on that part. I do want to thank all the various teams for doing the best they could.

The storyline was great and it kept me focused. I did not skip episodes! The visual effects were beautiful and I loved some of the martial arts! Sophie Zhang who played Rong Le / Man Yao / kind of messed up in a couple of scenes but I will forgive those mistakes. Unt uh, I'm not telling! I will be trying to find more dramas she is in. Aarif Rahman Zongzheng who played Wu You did very well. I love Jing Chao, who played Fu Chou / Wu Chou, in this story. The romantic chemistry between Sophie and Aarif was very good. I loved how the writers had them go through trials and tribulations in their relationship. This movie should've last longer

This movie should have lasted longer in my opinion. The storyline was just too short. I love both main characters. The ending was great! A life spared. I would've enjoyed this if they made this into a drama series. The visual effects were good for being 2 hours. The sword fighting was excellent. I need to view more of Chang Shen's movies. I watched this before I watched the first one. He has a lot of movies but some have not been released as of yet. Yang Mi I love so there is nothing I could say about her even when I didn't like the "Negotiator".

The brother chemistry with the main leads is very good! Excellent! I hope these actors such as Bai Yu and Zhu Yi Long carry their friendship shown in this story doesn't quit after they finish this job. I'm looking forward to seeing more dramas with them in it. I love the camaraderie they all had with each other. The storyline about evil and good was awesome. The only thing I didn't like was the two characters left their friends in their timeline. I really didn't care for the last few minutes of the ending. I was also impressed with Jiang Ocean and Xing Peng. Xing Peng to play a role as he did, to fear everything then be brave when he needed to was excellent acting. Jiang your acting skills as his friend and brother... was phenomenal. I loved everything about his and I hope they come with a sequel.

Sitting on the Throne is a terrible thing. When the family is young, it's #familyisallwegot Then when they get of age they all fight for the throne. I really do not like that concept but that is the way it was back decades ago. My favorite two actresses in this piece were believable so kudos to them. "Hu Bingqing" and "Ady AN" thank you, I applaud you for your great acting skills. There is one actress, I don't really care for because I watched her in "Legend of Fuyao", there is just something about her I'm not impressed with. Her character in Legend of Fuyao was the same as in this drama playing Dugu Montuo (Li Yixiao), I felt she jumped out of Legend Fuyao and landed in Legend of Dugu! The storyline was okay... not something that I would get goosebumps over but it was workable. The switching of hubby's got to me. None of them ended with a person they truly loved. They all got played by the females. I loved the bad guy in this Drama series, Jeremy Tsui, I saw him in another Drama where he played a good guy and he does bring his personality charm to make this character different so thank him. The other character I loved was Yang Gian. I love the costumes, the music was okay, and the visual effects. The one-piece I really loved was the Sword dance displayed by HuBingqing and Zhang Danfeng (my favorite). William Chan, I applaud you!

I need to thank the writer(s) for bringing awareness to Drugs and how drugs are exported in and out of countries. Thank You! A lot of people do not realize that the drug "Angel" does exist in this world. I've known it to be called "Angel Dust" or PCP. I hope that we can stop those who create these drugs and eradicate the existence of hallucinogenic drugs that possibly can eliminate Human Life.

William Chan, portrayed his character as I knew he would. His talents over exceed himself. People when you watch this I guarantee you that you will need, a tissue or handkerchief. William Chan plays a very believable part of the character he is portraying. I just recently re-watched "Lost Love in Times" and compared the two characters being played are so different from one another. For me, that means William Chan does put himself and his persona into these characters yet makes them so different. Kudos to this awesome actor and one of my top ten favs.

Man, where do I start with the cast? The whole cast did their part in playing the characters in this drama. A'se is one that I had to do my research on. I applaud his acting skills in playing this character. The chemistry between Sandra Ma and William Chun was kind of iffy for me but it worked for this storyline. Every movie or drama series has low points and the low points of this Drama Series were not many but made their point across the stage making my emotions flare in anger, joy, and tears. This was a fantastic storyline except that I took .5 points off because of his servant. Again, I will not give details out. You have to watch it for yourself. I love how the lead character played by Chen Fei Yu took care and protected her wholeheartedly. The maid-servant played by Song Yi Ren, is the most important character for me in this drama series. They are planning for a 2nd season to this but Chen Fei Yu is not coming back because he has other priorities. That is sad because he did a fantastic job with this character. I loved the first part when they were young and the Prince admired Ruyi but then when they got married all the chaos started with consort this and that, concubines this and that. They conspired against each other to take one or the other out. The reason why I gave the cast a 10 rating is that they did their part in bringing that time to the audience. Wallace Huo did awesome in the role he portrayed. I cried in the two last episodes when Ruyi passed away. The costumes were beautiful but I still can't get used to those hairstyles in that era including the European hairstyles. The jewelry was exquisite as always. Thank you to the Costume team! Thank you to the cast, producers, visual, artistry, and the music team.

NOTE: Even in the present day, when a man has one wife with added lovers, it never works out well. Somebody's feelings are going to be hurt. That is regarding any culture!

This was a cute story but bland. IU did very well, I feel she was not the right actress for Lee Sun Kyun. Lee Sun Kyun also did very well in this but I feel he was the wrong actor to play this part for IU. Sorry that I feel like that. The storyline was cute, and dramatic at times. It had its ups and downs. At least the character of Park Dong Hoon was faithful to his wife. I have a different view of the ending but I will keep my lips sealed. The music they played was repeated throughout the drama was not good for me. I'm more of a fantasy type of person, wanting more action in a drama. All the actors played their part.
