Well, since we know a lot more now I think I can craft a newest theory. -So what do we know as facts from the…
I get your point about the low-key intimacy between Kurosawa and Adashi by the end of the show. I expect just a kiss too. Which is totally fine. From the way I see it Adachi still has a long way to go regarding being at the level of intimacy that Kurosawa has fantasized about. I even suspect that Adashi may be in the asexual spectrum which keeps him from going further with Kurosawa physically.

As oppose to Tsuge who did IT on his first night, which I kinda get why his arc moved so fast now. He's a romance writer, he thinks about sex probably all the time (it's his job after all), so once a guy he liked shows up in his life he went off like a bullet train.

Adachi's motives confuse the hell outta me, I don't blame Kurosawa for feeling so conflicted that he just had…
I get what you mean. It's as though Adashi likes the feeling of being liked by Kurosawa. But he seems still confused to whether he likes the latter as a person or romantically. I feel he would had been more at ease if Fujisaki was the one who liked him, but the fact that it is Kurosawa, a guy, it's still makes him second think. So maybe he's still internally questioning his sexuality.

Plus you also you have to remember he's still that timid person who always second guesses himself. It's like one moment he'll gather up his courage to start a conversation with someone and the next moment he'll go quiet, wondering if anyone is even listening. He's actions seem hot and cold due to his lack of confidence, which I understand (since I admit to be like that too).

Though I think his occasional rapid heartbeat around Kurosawa is meant to indicate he does feel something.
