It wasn't just silly misunderstanding. Because of his love curse, it made him more sensitive at that time.
And, it's a Xianxia drama. What do you expect? To be realistic at fighting scenes? Just go watch Urban Dramas then!

It's true he is a spy of Tianxu Tang indirectly, coz he is taking orders from Deputy Master. But, he would not know Deputy Master is actually Yuan Lang, Tianxu Tang Leader.
He is always been a direct disciple of Deputy Master.

I also sense HC is gonna find out and expose soon. He would be happy that SF is really turned out to be demon. He could make more misunderstandings.
