What a Sh-t Show

Oh, man. What can I say about this drama? Well, first off, it’s definitely not one of my favorites. Don’t get me wrong, I love the actress who played the FL, but the writers didn’t do much of a great job with this one. It’s like they threw in all the ingredients of what they think what makes a great drama. The synopsis doesn’t even match the whole thing. Where is the legal battle? All I saw was her seducing the ML. Why does she need to use sex to get back? Why him? She needs to target the old man Han-Pa ro and the other people who were involved in the death of her father. You could get revenge in other ways, you know. Not just sex. I don’t understand, tbh. Then she falls in love with him. A married man. Great. Idk about you, but after watching that scene when he pushed her down on the floor and told her to wait like a dog waiting for its master. Like dude, what dafuq are you doing?? No. Just no. I will never fall for a guy like him, no matter how much of a sappy background he had. Every time they had a love scene, I just skipped it. I just couldn’t see the chemistry between them. Now, let’s move on to the second male lead who has a great heart and had cared for her for years. I really wished he was the male lead here, like come on. I felt so bad for his character. Poor thing. Then of course, the ML decided to drive the car at the edge of the road but he got killed instead and his bratty wife survived. As much as I love the actress, I couldn’t sympathize with her character. What a dumpster fire. I’m sorry. I’m hoping she would get another great story like “It’s Okay Not to Be Okay”.

A Wonderful Short Drama

I was just browsing around when the cover caught my eye. I realized it was Cheng Lei, so I started watching it. I noticed how short the episodes were. I’m not a fan of dramas with short episodes but if I like the storyline and the actors, then I’ll probably give it a chance. So glad I found this drama. It’s short but I love the story so much. It tells the story of Shi Qi who was caught by Shen Qi, the prime minister’s daughter, and face swapped with her in order to be with her lover, Prince Ning. The real Shen Qi was about to marry the general Xiao Hansheng. After they face swapped, Xiao married her. But after a few episodes, she accidentally spills words that Shi Qi would tell the general when she saved him 3 years ago. I love General Xiao. He’s very funny and sweet. He started to doubt her identity. She couldn’t say much about it to him, so he started investigating. His Military advisor asked him what he was going to do if he finds out that she’s a fake. He said it didn’t matter because she’s his real wife, so it’s fine. Aaawww. Lots of passionate kissing here. Hoo boy. It beats a lot of dramas out there, in my opinion. Chinese dramas have come a long way. The general is so funny. He loves looking at all her paintings. That ending, though. How tragic. Imagine being stuck with a face that’s not even yours and your sister who has done the sorcery took her own life. That other girl who was kept captive that she thought who was her sister was actually the real Shen Qin. That twist was crazy. Very heartbreaking. This drama was definitely one of my favorite short dramas. Great job with the writers and director with this one. I know short dramas can be very challenging to cramp everything with such limited time, but they delivered it well.

I’m Over the Moon

Three letters. O.M.G.

This Chinese drama was soooo good. This tops Love and Redemption and Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms in my list of dramas. The actors, the acting, the storyline, the set, the costumes were all amazing. They did a great job pulling my heart out. What a great performance from the whole staff! I’m a huge Bai Lu fan, so of course I had to watch this after watching her in Till the End of the Moon. The drama title had “Moon” in it, so it gotta be good, right? She’s perfect as Bai Shuo. I love her in costume dramas, I swear. She’s like a true goddess. This is my first Ao Rui Peng drama, so now I’m an officially a fan. You know, Ao Rui Peng looks like a cross between Dylan Wang and Deng Lun. I’ve never watched him in other dramas before, but him as a demon lord here impressed me. They acted so well here. I cried buckets, seriously. I was sick while watching this so I kept crying and blowing my nose at the same time. I love purple so much and this show had a lot of purple colors in it. The villains were great as well. The whole message of this story is all about sacrifices and walking down your own path. It was repeatedly mentioned throughout the whole story. I devoured it within a week. I did not have huge expectations with this show because I once read a comment from someone saying Moonlight Mystique wasn’t as good as they thought. Excuse you?? Just kidding. Well, that’s their opinion. At first look you’d think it looks similar to the Cdrama Love between Fairy and Devil, but it’s really not. It’s actually far from it. I love the demon lord there, the Moon Supreme Dongfang Qingcang played by Dylan Wang. But honestly, out of all the demon lords I’ve seen, Ao Rui Peng’s demon lord character’s the best for me. Followed by Dylan Wang’s. Now I’m looking forward watching his other shows. It does have a lot of character deaths, though, so be ready. I love the twists and turns, the friendships, the chemistry between the couples, the music, everything is just pure perfection. I love it so much. I don’t know how much I can stress this. I’m in love with this show. But now that this drama is over, I feel empty inside. Bummer. This is how I always feel after watching a really good drama. It’s like a group of friends that you won’t be able to see anymore. The story’s done, so it’s time to move on to another one. There are so many dramas out there that starts out so good and then the amazing factor just dwindles halfway through. Perfect example would be misunderstandings. This story doesn’t have that, and it has a happy ending. This is a perfect rating for me. It’ll hold a special place in my heart. I’m consoling myself by watching the Behind the Scenes clips on how they made it. I feel so happy how this group got along so well. The casting director did a great job choosing the right people for the show. And thank you to the writers for giving us a healthy couple. Love sure has no bounds.

Heart Wrenching Drama

I started this back in 2024 and stopped after a few episodes. I could just not get into it. I was taking a break from watching Cdramas, so after watching Bon Appetit, Your Majesty, I continued watching it. Not going to lie, but I did cry a lot. It covers suicide, abuse, and bullying. I just didn’t get the part when Do-Hee’s parents were killed from a car accident, why did Madam Ju take her in? It didn’t made any sense, because where are her relatives? Especially grandparents?? You don’t see her interacting with her own extended family members. It was only the Ju family, that’s it. Watching this was also like watching a fashion show. Anyway, I’m glad some characters redeemed themselves, and the ending was perfect the way it is. It showed what happened to all the remaining supporting characters. It made me laugh and it made me cry. The music was really good, too.

A Decent Watch

I watched the first episode of this drama when it first came out on Netflix and decided to pause and watch my Chinese dramas. It’s only a limited series, so it only had 12 episodes which you can binge watch within a day. I didn’t go back to watch it because I got sidetracked with other Chinese dramas that I was waiting for. The FL actress Lim Yoon-a, who plays Yeon Ji-yeong, a French trained chef who gets transported to the Joseon era by an old cook book. She meets the tyrant King, Lee Heon, played by Lee Chae-min. He fell for her because of her delicious food. I honestly enjoyed everything about this drama. Lee Chae-min did a great job portraying his role. I first watched him in the drama, Hierarchy. I haven’t seen much of his acting skills there, but with this one? I’m looking forward for more future dramas. He reminds me of Moon Sang-min. I think they’re the same age. He has a bright future ahead of him. I loved the part when she was brought to the jesters dancing around. He took off his mask and his face looked a little unhinged asking her if she liked the play that he arranged for her. I enjoyed watching the FL cook all those delicious mouth watering dishes. The supporting characters were all great. The ending… Oh. My. GAWD. I cried!! At first I wasn’t sure what would happen because I did come across someone saying they hated the ending but I got out of there real fast. I refused to read a spoiler. My heart was breaking while she got stabbed and she got sucked back into the book to return to her era. Poor King was left devastated. Imagine losing your loved one?? Like how would you be able to find her if she originally belongs to the future?? Anyway, I still had high hopes. There wasn’t much time left and I was growing anxious. When I heard his voice and he mentioned the word “sword” I was squealing like crazy and I was in tears when they kissed! He wasn’t reincarnated. HE IS THE KING FROM THE JOSEON ERA!! I loved the short epilogue where he was cooking for her as he promised before when they meet again. After finishing it, I regretted not watching it sooner. I love it so much! I cried a lot in the end. It’s just sad because the ending felt a little rushed. I hate it when they do this to dramas. It’s like the writers are in a hurry to wrap it up. Oh well. As long as they saw each other again in the modern era, I’ll take it.

Team Run Yu

I’m not going to lie, but this was the first Chinese drama on Netflix that sucked me back in 2018, and I started watching more dramas after that. As soon as he played it on Netflix, I was ADDICTED. My husband created a monster. He watched it, too. It was pretty long. There were just too many things going on, so it got too draggy. The most interesting character for me was Run Yu, the Night Immortal, played by Luo Yunxi. He was such a great actor here. I was not a fan of the main leads, to be honest. I had the second male lead syndrome with this drama. There were so many side couples, it felt like it wasn’t about the leads anymore. I found myself skipping sometimes. I wanted to drop it midway, because I was so annoyed at Jin Mi and Xu Feng, but then I really wanted to know Run Yu, the Night Immortal’s fate in this story, so I had to finish it. I’m not going to lie, but even though Yang Zi’s character was like a child at the beginning, I understood why later on. I started watching some of her past dramas after Ashes of Love, like Immortal Samsara and Lost You Forever. While I hated the storyline, the actors did a wonderful job and delivered their roles perfectly. The villains certainly got under my skin and I kept cussing at the screen every time they were plotting something evil. The music stuck with me as well. It was a whirlwind romance, but they ended up with a happy ending. Go ahead and watch it and judge for yourself. As much as I wanted to love this story, I couldn’t.

Not too bad, I guess?

While waiting for To My Beloved Thief episodes to drop, I watched Cinderella at 2 AM and enjoyed it, then I had to check out more of Moon Sang Min’s other works then saw this one. I actually enjoyed the fake marriage trope, except this one is not with the ML, Ji Han, but the ML’s brother, Do Han, who’s actually gay, so he’s not really the second male lead at all. Do Han wants to escape the role of leading his grandfather’s company, so he signs a contract with the FL, A Jeong, that they’ll be a married couple for three years and will go on their separate ways. The ML tried so hard to separate the two but ended up falling for the FL. I like the enemies to lovers trope as well. The banters between them were entertaining. This started out so cute, but I’m not going to lie, along the way it turned out a little messy and confusing. There are some questions that came to my mind like what happened to their father? If their grandfather knew that the cause of the accident was the son-in-law, why didn’t he do anything? I think that was so stupid. And then the two grandsons grew up knowing their grandfather hates them. I hate the scene where the oldest sister made Ji Han beg. He actually knelt down on the floor and at the end of the story we don’t see her or the other brother apologizing to the two brothers who they hated their whole life. No character development at all. The bonding moments they had were cute. Kisses are *chef’s kiss*. Music was good. I only watched this because it’s Moon Sang Min, unfortunately I can’t give this an outstanding rating because of the way the second half was written. I did not like that they saw each other again a year later. If I loved someone so badly, I won’t be able to wait a year. But I guess it’s called the test of time. And oh, the translation irks me. Most of the time the words “still” and “then” were always present in their sentences. Anyways, overall I enjoyed it despite the messy writing. I found out this was an adaptation from a Webcomic.

Quite Intense

It’s really funny how the ending scene of The Romance of Tiger and Rose was at a hospital. Now Ding Yu Xi’s character is in a hospital, too. It’s like seeing Han Shuo again. Yay! It’s also funny because in Tiger and Rose, he was an actor. In this drama, his FL is an actress. Anyway, the FL is too annoying at the beginning. Like when she was hospitalized and wanted to get Zhou Shuyin’s attention, she runs around chasing him all dressed up. Even bringing him a cart full of food inside his office with some lights around it. Like, ma’am, you know you’re under observation, right? I thought that was ridiculous. Glad Doctor Zhou sent her home. Then when he invited her to his ancestors worship, she gives him a hard time by not giving him an answer right away. Then when it was too late, she gets mad because he left her. But good thing he waited for her outside her apartment after she went out to do some shopping spree. When they stepped inside his car, she demanded him to put the buckle for her. I don’t get this part. You can buckle your own self, geez. I know she’s just trying to be cute for him saying he needs to guarantee her safety. I admit, I’m a sucker for arranged marriages. Especially when the ML looks uninterested in the FL, but deep down he really likes her. When they went back to his grandmother’s house and we meet the little sister. OMG. She really got under my skin. How old was her character supposed to be? So childish. I hate how they always say that “yingying is still young. Don’t take it to heart.” Well, they’re enabling the little brat. And every time they wanted to kiss, they would always get interrupted. Especially by Yingying. Ugh. So annoying. In the end when she wanted to get the part of a leading actress, Shiyun talks to his producer friend, but before he could even ask for a favor, he thought about it and changed his mind. At the wrong time, someone saw them hugging. She found out the night she came home after she got selected. That really hurt her. News spread online that she got the role because of Shiyun. I don’t understand why Shiyun didn’t explain. He remained silent throughout the whole time. At least tell her that you almost did. Of course they needed that for the drama. Wu Di mentioned it to her that that Shiyun didn’t brought her name up to the producer. Jinbei is still hurt for what he did. I hate the translation for this drama. Drives me to the wall. Some things don’t make sense sometimes. She went back to her hometown and he followed. She refused to see him but her conscience tells her that he’s a good man. She runs out to find him and he proposes. They kissed. They kissed again when they were talking inside the bedroom. I’m just glad that the misunderstanding part didn’t drag on for episodes. It’s only natural for a couple to have their down moments. When they went home to visit the grandmother, she was a little nauseous. She said she might be pregnant. They were sleeping separately all the time so how did she get pregnant? I already knew she wasn’t pregnant. It’s funny because Shiyun is a doctor and the first thing he could’vetold her is to check just to make sure. All those symptoms could be anything. It happened to me before. Wu Di was the one who told her to check. She found out she wasn’t pregnant. I love how the drama ended. No big Wedding scene, no pregnancy, no babies. Just the two of them spending their sweet time together as newlyweds with their cute little cat, Wutong. I’m glad she mended her relationship with Zitong, and Jiawei respected Jinbei because she was engaged. He also found his love, Yingying, and Yingying found her love, Jiawei. I love the music, and I love their kisses! We have a lot of steamy kisses in the drama. And I’m glad they’re not dead fish kisses which I hate.

Too. Much. Flash.Backs

This was a cute Chinese Fantasy drama. It’s a bit similar to Eternal Love ( aka Ten miles of Peach Blossoms) when the female lead, Liuying, saves a wounded white snake who’s really the dragon king who has cultivated for thousands of years. The dragon accidentally kills one of the female characters, saves her soul, and in return, promises to guard Liuying’s reincarnations through three tribulations. I watched Dylan Wang (Meteor Garden) to see how he played this role. I guess he was ok here. Just a little stiff with some scenes. The female lead Barbi Zhu (Eternal Love) carried herself here pretty well. I watched her as the villain in Eternal Love and she was amazing in that drama. The side characters were pretty great. Be warned, though, that there’s a lot of flashbacks here, and I was a bit annoyed by it until the last episode where it wasn’t really necessary. They could’ve shown us a good ending, too. I can’t say it was sh-itty, but then it wasn’t that good either. I was heartbroken at the end. Boo.

A Slow Burn Romance

I watched this for Ding Yuxi so I haven’t had any huge expectations. I started this right after watching Melody of Golden Age because I’m a huge fan of him since Love Game in Eastern Fantasy. I was browsing MDL to see who’s the female lead. I noticed how she looked a bit older than him. When I checked their gap, I confirmed she was older. Anyway, the story starts with a woman in red dancing on a bridge. Her name is Chu Yu. A female general who fought at Fengling city along with her father who died in the war along 30k soldiers. The Wei troops come in after winning a war. The first one to come in was Wei Yun, the seventh son, and one of the generals of the Wei Army. She stops and professes her love for Wei Jun, the first son of the general. Wei Yun seemed to develop an interest in her from the very beginning when he saw her doing a sword dance up on the bridge. He’s always sneaking around whenever Wei Jun and Chu Yu meet. He’s very playful and carefree during this time. Chu Yu is not really in a relationship with Wei Jun. She only wanted his help to investigate the death of her father. She has the piece of mechanism of an octagonal crossbow that was used to kill her father and injured her brother, Linyang. The whole Wei army set off for another war with North Qi. Chu Yu shouted that she’ll wait for Wei Jun’s return. Wei Yun was looking at her when they were on their horses as they left the city gate. They draw sticks and Wei Yun got the rear guard. Of course. He was the one who was left behind while the father and his 6 older brothers go to Baidi valley. It was a stupid move, if you ask me. How did they underestimate their enemies? The battle was intense, and just like that, they all died. Ding Yuxi really delivered a great performance in this one. The emotions he has shown during the funeral procession was amazing. I was crying so much at that scene. Chu Yu came in a red dress saying she promised to marry Wei Jun, and she’ll become his widow of the first branch of the Wei family. She was doing this to get into the arsenal bureau to investigate. That was so wrong of her to do that. But she did help the Wei family by saving Wei Yun from prison. She endured a lot especially when they all knelt down outside in the freezing cold weather. As the episodes go by, I couldn’t really see them as a couple. He was always trying to get close to her, but she remains indifferent. I didn’t really see any chemistry between them. I did enjoy the friendships shared between all of them. The second male lead, Gu Chusheng, earned my respect for being a good official and he knew he was defeated by Wei Yun, so he didn’t do anything drastic to break them apart. He did try to pursue Chu Yu again, but failed. They all worked together to protect the Great Sui. I couldn’t stand the crown prince, but glad he had character development and had ascended successfully as the ruler of Great Sui. I hated his father, emperor Chunde. He tried so hard to separate Wei Yun and Chu Yu because his country needed a god of war, and in order for Wei Yun to be one, he shouldn’t have a weakness. No emotions. He’s so stupid. He even gave Chu Yu a title to trap her in the in the inner chambers, so she can never remarry. In the end, he makes Wei Yun guard the border for three years. He’s really something else. i admit, whenever Wei Yun makes his move to get closer to Chu Yu, it pisses me off when she dismisses him. Like OMG where is the fudging romance?? But then later on I realized, not every love story can be an instalove. Not everyone can fall for each other at the same time. In Wei Yun’s case, he fell in love with her first and was stuck in a one sided romance for quite a bit before romance developed. He decided to go for it. I was squealing with excitement when he told Gu Chusheng, “She could be my wife,” after Gu Chusheng reminded Wei Yun that she’s married to Wei Jun. He was like, “You said it yourself. It was just a cover, why can’t I marry her?” Damn. That was the start of him pursuing Chu Yu. His sister-in-law, Chun, reminded him that fatal knives are not just on the battlefield, but the words of people can kill her. Gossip went around town because their relationship was wrong to them. Anyway, we didn’t get to see a lot of romance, but it was an entertaining story. Episodes could have been shorter. Too much screen time for other couples. I didn’t really cared much about the others, especially her b-tchy sister, Jin. Glad she had character development as well. The most funny character goes to Lu Qiba. He’s the commander at Arsenal Bureau. He helped Wei Yun and Chu Yu so much. Everyone helped as well. The fighting scenes were so good, I love it. Wei Yun’s scenes were always a treat. I never dared skipped his scenes. He always looked like a little lost puppy whenever he was with Chu Yu. Song Shilan was another favorite of mine. He’s the son of a concubine who left his civil career for a military one. He’s comes from a military family, so it’s his deep
ambition to become a well known general. I love how the Song siblings all have a good relationship with each other. It’s really sad that the eldest Princess Chang Ming killed herself because she fell in love with the wrong person. What a tragic love story between her and Zhao Yue. This story tells us a lot of lessons about family, friendships, trust, passion, and love. We didn’t get to see the main couple get married or have any kids at the end which is okay. Not every story needs to end that way. Like I said, I watched this for Ding Yuxi, and that’s all it matters. I wasn’t disappointed with his performance here. There was one quote from Chu Yu that I loved:

“This is not a dead end. We will surely find a way out. If the road ahead is full of thorns, let’s cut through them. You and I are each other’s swords. Even if the sky falls, I will face it with you.”

Decent Watch

For years, I’ve always passed by this drama cover whenever I’m browsing around C dramas. The synopsis wasn’t enough to pull me in, I guess. I only watched it after 5 years later just because of the actor, Cheng Yi, who was the star of Love and Redemption (2020). According to reviews, this was the drama where Cheng Yi got recognition for. I actually loved the relationship between the main characters and how they’ll go through death just to save one another. Acting wise, I’m not really impressed with the main lead actors here. I know they’re really popular celebs, but I just didn’t see it. Maybe I’ll try their other dramas someday. Cheng Yi, who plays Lin Jing Yu, who was the main male lead’s best friend, was one of the best here. He delivered his role pretty well. His emotional scenes were always the best. He also had an amazing fight choreo with his teacher (see video). I’m not a fan of the hairstyles of the guys in this drama, though. Costumes are gorgeous and CGI was good. Fight scenes were awesome. Music used was memorable and made me so emotional. The most annoying character was the foster sister. I couldn’t stand her! Anyway, I found out there was a third season, but sadly, the original main leads are no longer a part of it. Bummer! I hate it when they do that. To be honest, I actually grew to love the original actors. Never mind, I won’t be watching it. (Cries) On second thought, maybe I will. The only reason I stuck through 2 seasons was because of Cheng Yi, and he’s still going to be in season 3. I can’t imagine anyone else playing his role here.

Heart tugging drama

While I was waiting for more Love in the Clouds episodes, I decided to start watching this. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from it. The song intro pulled me in, though. And I watched Zhou Ye in Legend of the Female General and loved her in that drama. I’ve never seen Back from the Brink spoilers on my feed so it was good that I had no idea what to expect. I saw how Hou Ming Hao acted in Love in the Clouds, so I was a little confused why his acting was a bit wooden here. But you know what? I think that was just from the start because his character needs to be cold after what happened to him. At the beginning, the taoist, Suying from Guanghan sect, was supposed to marry Tianyao, the millennium dragon king. Suying, the evil witch, stabbed him when they met saying their wedding day was his funeral. She dismembered his dragon body and sealed his soul. She wanted the heart protecting scale for the dragon armor she wanted to forge to give to the one she truly loves. It was so painful to watch and I actually cried when the little elves who look like little birds shaped like balls flew around him to patch his scales back. Then Suying killed them. I cried buckets. He made sure Suying wouldn’t be able to get what she wants, so he combined his core along with his heart protecting scale and threw it far away where she wasn’t able to find it. The heart protecting scale ended up with Yanhui, a baby that was abandoned in a basket. Yanhui was saved by the sect leader of Chen Xing mountain and she grew up there and learned a lot of things. I love Yanhui and how brave she was. She had an affinity for monsters. She wasn’t judgmental for who they are. Because of that, the other sect members ridiculed her. The two met and he found out that she has his heart protecting scale. They helped each other along the way and formed a bond. I actually ended up loving this drama. It really tugged on my heart strings especially when she confessed her feelings to him and he just rejected her. He was badly hurt by Suying, so it’ll take time for him to accept love from other people. He doesn’t want to fall in love anymore. Then Tianyao stabbed her twice and she ended up being traumatized whenever he approached her. He had to do that for two good reasons. I was just glad that they got over that and she began trusting him again. When he sacrificed his life by using the life swapping spell to save her, I was like OMG NO DO NOT DIE PLEASE!! You know how much he cares for her. After he dissipated, he turned back into an egg. She went back to Chen Xing mountain to gather all his consciousness. She cared for the dragon egg and it was so cute when the little horns came out. There was so many funny scenes throughout the drama, like when he was taking a bath, Yanhui opened the window and started watching him, then when he hatched from his egg, she looked under the sheets to make sure he wasn’t missing any limbs. She had a big smile on her face after looking, knowing he was naked under the sheets. She’s so silly, I love her. The second male lead was pretty good. Up until the end he really gave himself credit for being a matchmaker between Tianyao and Yanhui. It’s just sad that her Master died but I’m glad she learned the truth and he died protecting the people. He was the only father figure in her life. We didn’t even get to know her origins, like who were parents? Well, I’m actually upset at the ending. It wasn’t satisfying and I’m crying as I speak. They could’ve cut the memory flashbacks and showed more scenes with them at the end. This reminded me of some past dramas where they get reunited for like a minute after one died and got reincarnated. Geez. Anyway, I still enjoyed it regardless. The music was pretty good and it makes my heart bleed with sadness. The whole crew did a wonderful job despite the ending.

Second Chance

As how most rebirth stories are, we see the bad things happen, the setting is bloody and all, and the FL gets killed, and wakes up again giving herself a second chance in life. I love how as soon as Jiang Si woke up, she saw Yu Qi and slapped him asking him why he killed her. The words just slipped out her mouth. I also love how when Long Dan asked him why she saved her, he said that way she could remember him. It’s like a hint in their past life that she needed to remember him again in this present life. The couple here have the same fate or being a “bringer of misfortune”. What a load of crap. A story is not complete with annoying characters like competing family members. So far I despise the FL’s family (except for the dad, the bro, and that one sister). The grandmother was so annoying. The grandmother’s always thinking about their family’s reputation. Fudge that. It’s a bit painful to watch the women getting abused and tortured at the Marquis’ mansion. The villains here sure knew how to get under my skin. The biatches Princess Royal and that Princess Mingyue. I don’t understand how the Emperor didn’t catch any news on what they have been doing outside. He’s stupid. He cares so much for those two. Watching this story and seeing Zhang Wan Yi again feels like watching Are You the One and The Rise of Ning. Pretending, secretive, knows how to fight, funny, caring, and sweet. They’re all similar. I love how the FL doesn’t take any sh-t from anyone especially when they wanted to slap her. I didn’t like that part with the imperial concubine Xian (Yu Qi’s mother) who let the maids slap her. What a biatch. I like how there’s no misunderstanding in this story. It has a happy ending as well. Plus I love Erniu, Yu Qi’s dog. So cute. What I don’t understand is when grand elder told her that Yu Qi was the one who made the sacrifice. Um, what sacrifice are we talking about exactly? He shot her with his arrow. Why did he aim at her?? I feel like that part was a little blurry. I didn’t see much of the FL actress acting skills here. I feel like her acting was a bit bland. Overall, I enjoyed this story.

Make it Make Sense

I chose to watch this drama because I just finished watching Ao Rui Peng’s Moonlight Mystique and Wrong Carriage, Right Groom. It started out great. FL was cute and funny. The sickly ML Murong Chong’s mother was using Murong Zhuwan’s blood (his sister) to heal his poisoned body. Things got out of hand, an explosion happened and the real Murong Zhuwan died. I don’t like the mother, because after using the FL to stand as Zhuwan, she sends people to kill her a few times, and the ML, her son, wasn’t aware of this. So when she died inside that room along with the enemies, I had no ounce of sympathy for her. The ML was always angry and wanted to kill the FL every chance he got, then all of a sudden, after FL healed his chest wound, he was like “Why is she so nice to me? Has she fallen in love with me?” What the heck? Was that the first thing that came to your mind?? No wonder she didn’t choose you or Fu Hong. I didn’t like the plan they did. It cost some lives of important people like Xi, the maid who is with the FL all the time. The actor who played Fu Hong didn’t really impress me. There wasn’t much to see due to lack of expressions. FL wanted to know her origin, and when she does, she just looked up and smiled. Like, what the fudge was that?? She told the two ML’s that she wasn’t from that world. Wait, what?? Come again? I had a head ache from the ending. Forget it. 2 is bc I enjoyed the FL at the beginning. But that’s about it. Oh well.

Matches Made in Heaven

I watched this for 4 days. I enjoyed the main couple Qi Tianlei and Li Yuhu here since I’m a huge fan of the actors. The title says it all, it’s a switcheroo trope where two brides get on the wrong wedding sedan but found the right grooms. The story is pretty simple and has a happy ending. This story also has multiple couples, so it’s just not focused on the main couple. The conversations between the main couple is really cute and funny. I love how the main female lead didn’t fall for Ke Shizao’s evil plans especially by breaking them up using a third party. Glad Qi Tianlei and Li Yuhu communicate well, they really are a match made in heaven. Anyway, what I don’t understand is… it’s their wedding day, so where are the parents?? How come the only one’s present are Tianlei’s Master and his side of the family? I didn’t expect much when I started this show, but it’s a pretty light romcom that’s easy to watch. It has only 24 episodes so you’ll probably finish it in a day or two.
