Mbc right now a profit driven rather on story development and direction so can't expect a good dramas from them anymore like in old days

I think MBC wrapped it under the budget with fantasy tag drama without huge vfx involvement and limited actors with new asst. Director and mediocre writer paying less dime during pandemic time and they even sold it to IQIYI for table profit

I watched it way long back but I remember that it has something to do with ml soul switched to another man body and later he falls in love with his wife right?

Some times even star actors can't save poorly written and directed shows throughout the series they looked blank and helpless

I think writer had lot of conflict to how to end this drama when we watch final episodes until 43minutes he gave a happy end to cliche romcom lovers and then he had a conscience strike so he forced Ml to disappear to thin air and tried to give a poetic ending with spring nonsense that Fl waiting for her next spring love and she was happy that Ml loved her enough and she can move on happily

there's lot's of shortcomings in recent Korean romcom's may be writers are over using the same tactics and stereotype characters making predicable storyline they are not thinking out of the box they just adding filler episodes by episodes thinking people watch whatever they write

this drama doesn't even have a perfect story to portray writer just wrote storyline around 49day deadline with no brains first he forced cohabitation with jerk male lead and introduced a love triangle with unnecessary drama and after that on final arc he remembered that ML has 49 days again normal breakup and makeup with dramatic end

I agree with you now-a-days all production houses and agencies are focusing on crazy combination with filler episodes + cringe romance rather on writing and direction departments

I think Nana & Lee Min Ki agencies sold them / forced them to do this MBC project in a short time to get more money

Korean people & media closely follows k- actors&actress and they have lot of pressure from own agencies who always tries to earn more money on them so it's more stressful for them live a happy life which effects their personal relationships and mental health hmm in the past decade numerous k- stars committed suicide or addicted to narcotics while crumbling to this pressure even Korean politicians&media use their scandals as a cover to divert the people attention

yep budget constrains is main but it will be hectic job to get stars signed for long schedules and Korean stars frequently land in scandals which effects long run dramas while airing

yep Chinese make romcom 24-55 episodes and historicals 36-70 episodes

I do watch Chinese historical dramas with 55-60 epi with 45 min duration but it all depends on the screenwriter

Yi San (2007) ok but it about 70+ episodes and now they are doing remake to fit in to 16episodes with both female director&screen writer it's good thing to hear and I assume they focus on politics rather the romance track based up on their previous works

you are talking about Red Cuff of the Sleeve (2021) right but the drama is quite focused on the female character about her survival of ordinary court lady to become the mother of the crown prince anyhow let wait how they are gonna deal it

It got mixed review so 2 drama experienced director with newbie script writer hmm have to see how they are gonna work it out

yep even the director previously did My Healing Love (2018) 80 episodes drama for mbc network it's a bad sign

you mean "The Veil" it has lot of buzz around it but the writer is a newbie
