The drama reached 3.3 million posts on Weibo after the credit, no.2 on trending atm which is amazing considering the top 10 search was mainly news report and no.10 was Crash Landing ending. The production team did amazingly. According to an interview, the initial rating was around 0. something percent but they managed to go up to 1 so this drama is largely popular thanks to words of mouth. The leak really worried them but fortunately, less than 10 people watched it so whew.
Hope to see the team and cast continue to have amazing works in the future. They need to release the Bluray box set for this! I want to buy the photobook too.

They really gave the viewers life with the extended ending and it retains the sweetness of the relationship. To think it might not have happened without the leak.

The ending is sensible and is pretty hopeful. It depends on the viewers to see if HYX and LZW will meet again in the future.
The extended ending is TV only and they filmed it last week as a thank you gift I think and also to counter the leak happened last week.

Wonder how will they write the ending for Bank? Will they follow the same direction in the movie?

Mood. When LZW realised that it was not HYX who was w him. My heart broke. There was an uncle and his wife streaming live on YT and he gasped several times this ep.

The production team and the cast agree that the ending is the way to go and it’s going to be quite “emotional“ (I read the translated ver and wasn’t sure about the right word). The director and scriptwriter did fight a lot to get to this ending so I think it might not be a HE but is certainly one with careful thoughts driving it.

I really love it and feel excited to watch every episode but it requires your full attention. It is worth it imo but you have to get through the first 2 episodes of character establishment. I think you should give it a try since it only has 13 eps and next week is the last so perfect time to catch up.

I wasn’t sure to post this under the comment section bc it’s too long lol but yeah, I think any remakes will mostly have to start with a good main actress. I actually have confidence in Japan in terms of pacing because there’s no way they are going beyond 15 or even 10 eps for a drama lmao.

According to discussion group on FB, Fox Networks is currently handling the deals of possible remakes of this drama in Korea and Japan. Nothing is known yet about Mainland China, though I have a feeling Zhou Dongyu will probably be the favorite for HYX/CYR. There’s also a possible movie adaptation with the current cast but it will be a challenge for the production team to adapt a 13 eps script to 2 hour long movie.

There’s also an interview where the production team talks about the casting of SDOD. They had quite high standards when it comes to the 2 leads because both have to portray multiple identities at different stages of their lives. The catalyst for the drama is the female lead so the production team started with her casting first. They managed to reach out to Alice Ke by chance and having her is a blessing because she has the skill and the fame to attract good ratings. Thanks to her, the production team has more confidence in hiring Greg Hsu for the lead because although they have noticed him since Love of Sandstorm and planned to have him as the 2nd male lead of Attention Love, he didn’t have any popular or lead works prior this and last year.

The scriptwriter also mentioned that he got the idea from a dream and refined the script for 2 years. SDOD is considered a youth/idol drama but it is more costly to produce as they decided to not put product placements that can be distracting. Fans noticed that they were extremely careful down to the details even in the news clips in the Dr.’s possessions. So far, nothing in this drama has been a filler and there are foreshadows in every statements imo.

I think ep 10 should explain the timeline then but ep 11 will explain this theory further. Might be better finish 2 new eps before diving in this theory tbh.

I should say it more clearly tbf. WQS did attempt suicide in 2010 but was only hospitalised. CYR was almost murdered at the beginning but was hospitalised.

He’s still half alive when LZW jumped from 2003 but WQS’ original soul was basically gone at that point because he didn’t wake up at all during the 7 years LZW occupied his body nor within 2 weeks after LZW 2003 car crash.

After waking up in 2010, LZW (in WQS’s body) went to see the uncle to ask what happened after his crash and to MJJ. The uncle did tell him that MJJ killed himself after being released in 2008. LZW then moved on and became the WQS who HYX loves.

However, it turns out that the original body of LZW is still there but is occupied by the LZW who jumped from the body of 2017 WQS (who is now officially dead after the plane incident), waking up “2 weeks” after the car crash in 2003. LZW lived as himself from then.

In this case, 2 weeks = 7 years.

LZW knew about MJJ’s death and tried to stop this but he failed. By 2010, LZW basically lives in 2 bodies at the same time but each of them jumps at different points. One knows the other exist and one doesn’t.

HYX could not go back after 1999 because CYR was physically dead at that point so HYX basically has no body to host.

=> Bodily harm allows soul swap, physically dead means dead. Suicide means that the soul is gone forever.

It was LZW in the body of WQS all along from 2010. The beach incident was in 2010, MJJ’s death was in 2008.

Other than gay acceptance mentioned by other comment, the scriptwriting team in an interview said that why they did that to WQS (and also CYR’s non-confrontational personality) is part of highlighting the importance of taking teenagers’ worries and troubles seriously even if they sound as “trivial” as being rejected by a crush or other classmates (esp rejected bcs of their true selves). This is why they took the first 2 eps to establish CYR’s circumstances and LZW’s monologue in the BBQ restaurant. They could only spend that much time on WQS bc the main charas are already established with only 13 eps in total. Moreover, a strong theory is that LZW only managed to cross to WQS’ body without interruption for 7 years unlike HYX because the real WQS k*lled himself and was not murdered like CYR or in a coma like 2003 LZW.

Time to be heartbroken again. LZW might be dead for real now unless HYX successfully time travels but from what I’m seeing in the next preview, HYX this time is trapped inside CYR’s body. CYR is using the fact that LZW is in love with HYX to get close to him.
What we do know is that the real older brother was not actually bad but it’s the time travelled younger bro that messed up his and his kid version’s lives. Some people blame YX for unintentionally causing this huge problem but I don’t think so? It’s the time paradox that is causing these issues. There’s no starting point in this loop since HYX is in love with the LZW who time jumps and vice versa. LZW wouldn’t be the man HYX is in love with without going through all these pain.
