With the difference being that it was her fate. She saved the world and it was her destiny to do so. You can like the ML character all you want. The tradition of using noble idiocy as a plot device get tiresome at times. Why don’t characters talk to each other? Would that simply make the drama too short?
I can’t bother debating this with you as it is late over here. You are entitled to your own opinion and to your own interpretation of the drama. Personally, I feel the FL deserved better. No more no less.

When it comes to interpersonal relationship, a good idea is to communicate with the one you love. Letting the FL suffer needlessly was so unnecessary. Noble idiocy is quite common in Asian dramas. Sacrificing your own happiness with the assumption that you are sparing your loved one pain, and then instead causing them even more pain. I thought this was a great drama with a fantastic cast of actors and some characters I really enjoyed. The ML was not one of them. He thought he knew best and never consulted his wife. In the end, he deserved to be alone.
