CAFÉ DISTRICT You love found family stories and one-more-episode nights Depending on the day this is true, but I also feel like a Seaside village, because I do be rewatching my favorite series.
I wonder if their going to fast forward to the present day and we see how they've all grown up. I believe the novel does that. I wonder who would play all the characters in adult form.
Hi! I loved the initial idea of La Pluie, but then... pff, I don’t know. Your comment about The Cursed Love…
Lol, you didn't write to much.
I remember watching Not Me and loving almost everyone (The Gawin and First romance was weird af, did not convince me of anything and I trying to purge that pairing from my brain, but it always comes back but as a jumpscare). That series was so good and it made me believe in OffGun that when Cooking Crush came around I would love them, I was so wrong.
As for vampire shows in general I live in US so I lived through the vampire craze of Buff the Vampire Slayer, Angel, the Twilight Sags, True Bloods, The Vampire Diaries and all of its spin-off. I cannot watch vampire shows or movies without comparing to these shows. The other vampire Thai Bl that I stopped watching was My Golden Blood. I couldn't picture Gawin as the main character with the "innocent" vibes he was suppose to give out. His face never convinced me. Plus I was dying laughing every time they had to do a "big" scene that involved cgi or pulleys (Joss and Gawin break through a window on a very high level of the hotel lives in my head rent free and I'm always laughing). I'm going to give it another try though because I do like JossGawin together.
I do like series that have red flag characters, but they have to be done correctly. ABO Desire and Revenged Love have red/black flag main characters, but I love watching how their plans work and how the two main character fall in love/obsessed with each other. I will say both series have secondary couples I do not like. ABO's second couple is another textbook definition of miscommunication with one of them being a complete asshole to most people so it's really difficult to watch their "love" grow. Revenged Love is basically the exact opposite. They're adorable but for me personally I wanted to see more of the main couple and their cat and mouse romance.
I will agree that because we are gettin so much more shows that it's so much easier to drop a series we don't like because there's like 5 other series we can watch. But I still try to watch as much Thai BLs as I can since they produce the most out there. Korean BLs don't hold my attention very well, Taiwan BLs act a cute and innocent but they got a little freaky side to them, Japanese BLs were my bread and butter but now hold zero interest to me. Chinese BLs scare me but I still watch me, and Thai BLs do all of the above for me which is why I always watch them.
Anyway rant over. I'm glad you like hearing what I have to say and I hope you have a wonderful day.
Hi! I loved the initial idea of La Pluie, but then... pff, I don’t know. Your comment about The Cursed Love…
Theory of Love- I cannot stand the trope "I'm in love with my best guy friend who is a player" I skipped so much while watching it I will categorize it as dropped even though I "finished it".
Cooking Crush-OMG everyone was so dumb in this series I couldn't take it seriously. I dropped it when Off's character was getting jealous of the Chef's character played by Victor.
Love Alert- I could not watch this past episode 4. Everyone was insufferable, horny, was pining after other people. I'm not a fan of love triangle so color me surprised when it started watching this series and it was a love square with the two main couple in the dumbest way possible.
Reloved- This series was the textbook definition of miscommunication. Ugh i cannot put into words how much the main couple pissed me off with the lack of communication. A lot of viewers (myself included) stayed for the 2nd CP only for one of them to die out of nowhere. I didn't believe they killed someone off until the characters were talking about the funeral. After that I truly dropped this series.
Secret Crush on You-Didn't even last 20 minutes into this series. It was so annoying and over the top acting. You couldn't pay me a million dollars to sit through that series.
Crazy Handsome Rich- Idk what drugs the production was on when making this series, but I couldn't get past the bad acting and whatever ADR they did (idk how to explain it but you'll know it when you see it).
OMG! Vampire: Uncut Version- I have zero faith in any vampire bl. They always try to go to serious to the point when it hit camp territory by accident or they make it camp, but everything about it is bad. This series is the latter.
Yesterday-This is the only series when I dropped it because I was freaking out every turn. I couldn't handle waiting every week for the lies and betrayal so I said I would wait until it was all out a binge and I've never gotten around to it. I'll try to pick it up sometime soon.
Sorry for the long post. I love Thai Bls and I have a lot to say about them. I could have written so much more but decided not to lol.
I finished Dangerous Romance and Kidnap because I'm a unapologetic GMMTV fan, but oh boy I didn't not like either of them. La Pluie I loved until we introduced a love rival for the main couple then I mentally checked out. Big Dragon and Hidden Agenda was just fine and the other I've never seen or heard of but I think I'm gonna pass on them. Oh but The Cursed Love I could write a dissertation about how much I did not like that series! Thanks for all this again!
You're making me want to try watching it again, as I didn't like the comedy and dropped it after 3 eps.
The comedic moments are still there, but they are more evenly placed and work so much better once the true story starts. If you can give it another go it will be worth it.
Out of all the thai bl historical genre this one is by far the best. I will admit that I didn't really enjoy the first 3 episodes, it was a little too comedic but as Nakhun truly understood who Klao was it made it easier for me to watch. I love them all and I excited and sad for this last episode.
I'm a little late to the party, but I had to say this. The green light across a body of water always make me think of Gatsby and what that green light represents. Ugh, curse you 10th grade lit class.
I watched Interminable and one of the big issues I had with that series is that it ended with the two main characters reincarnated in the present day and we don't get to see them interact or fall in love again like how the novel does. This show made me so happy that we got to see their past lives and what goes on in the present now that Nakun has come back.
I would still continue it. I enjoyed the series overall, but I can agree that the PerthChimon chemistry felt awkward when it was a kiss scene or when they were flirting.
I can’t figure out if these guys were styled and dressed down for the purpose of their characters or if they've…
They were. The needed to look like "young" college students and not glamified models/actors so everything was set to casual mode. Also a lot of their scenes were shot outside so they would have looked like very shinny/melted if they caked in thick make up. Either way they look amazing.
