Okay, I'm rebooted. And I don't think this comment contains any major scene spoilers, but I boxed it just in case. Just want to share my thoughts on ep 14 in order of scene appearances:

Ep13? The message came from a contact (presumably a friend or former colleague of his) sending him the exposé that he was confessing to in the video in ep14. Remember, by that time, Chengyu had already started the 'take down' of Meng Tao after Li Wang investigated Meng Tao for him.

Also my brain still hasn't totally rebooted after 37.57 so I might sound like I'm high.

Keep calm and watch on, the messy drama will happen and pass, just enjoy the ride✌️

This is a show, they're actors. They're playing roles. The kisses are performances. Stay crispy, stay present, stay in reality. Ain't no thang chicken wang.

It's messy in the novel. Best just enjoy the way the adaptation plays it out, it'll probably be tidier and more coherent 😂

Yep, he's been trying to force a confrontation for years so they can clear the air. Because he doesn't think CC will believe him if he just says the truth of what (didn't) happen. It's been a long time coming. Pretty sure that end scene was CY's anger catching up to him, he wanted to go after WS and confront him about being back on the same ol' bullshit lie in front of CC. Yeesh, so much drama lol

Just my assumption but I think he was pissed off about what WS said while they were drinking and belatedly wanted to confront him.

To understand this, you might have to know/have known certain types of people irl. You'd be surprised at how fucked up people can be 😂

On the plus side we'll never see accidental boom mics peeking into the scenes, but on the downside, sometimes the dubs are FAILS 😭

Personally, I found the dialogue wasn't great and I felt the 'plot' was sort of disconnected, holey and sluggish. I also don't like the way it's filmed, too performative, that kind of cinematography only works for me in Cn costume dramas. I have have some pickiness in series that just puts me off, S.C.I just wasn't for me. I dropped it around ep 7.
