Say hanabii, even when he was hurting Pran did his best to be by his side. He could have left Pat out in the open when he lost his keys. He didn't. He made sure to help Pat. He had always made Pat his first priority.

Isn't Pran being afraid to show his love valid from his end? His mother opposed the relationship. Here Pat was flirting around with girls. Pran even said that you always get the one you want.

Always having watched from afar, he never even dreamed of Pat liking him back.
