very grateful for this comment. I stopped halfway through episode 28. Sometimes it pays to lurk in the comments section before watching episodes. I'll be back on Saturday to see if anything has changed :D

I've avoided historical dramas for the longest! BUT THIS!!!! OMG This is my first Chinese historical drama andd I LOVEEE ITTT. I pulled an all-nighter binge watching from episode 1 to 16 till my eyes couldn't anymore XP (Please don't judge me XD) But WOOO!! Do I love this drama.

I did, it's the same subs. That's why I said to channel your inner Chinese because there's really no way out.

Ugh Xing Fei's character is so lame in this drama. I literally shout boo every time i see her doing something lame. The drama is not that bad if you consider it a comedy. But there are some things even I have to fastforward because they're cringe and lame. (wtf was that bottle kiss scene?)
Even after saying all this though, I am still watching the drama. Don't know if it's because I have nothing else to watch or the number of episodes they release a week has an influence on me.
I don't even know what they could possibly do for 40 episodes.

Mangotv subs are a thing. Waiting for good English subs mean you don't plan to watch the drama. Just channel the inner chinese in you and you'll understand the horrible subs 😭😭

Every day I come here looking for people to scream with about the "romance" (finally!) and then all I see is people discussing how this wasn't logical or that wasn't logical. Why must we always want to look for logic in a character or a scene or a story? It's not real life so why would you want to apply logic? Can't we just enjoy the drama? It's a drama not a reality show (even those are scripted sometimes). Too many people are talking about logic, this doesn't make sense, that shouldn't have happened. Oh please. We beg you. We don't watch dramas to take them seriously, that's what real life is for. If something doesn't make sense, just laugh it off. It's not that deep. I mean take it up with the writer. We're here for a good time not a logical time.
