I'm on episode 12 right now and the whole mom part isn't even needed. It's like they are using it to add angst to the relationship. She finds out the guy looking after the orphans killed her mom and ML is like, "okay get over it" which is crazy considering how angry he was at his dad mistress in season 1

I normally let romance play out however it does especially in dramas like this where it isn't as important but Baichuan and Xiu not being together will be such a fumble imo.
