Despite the impending doom we are to anticipate in the next episode, let's not forget this about Pat and Pran today:
We know their relationship is not toxic. They communicate. They talk about their feelings. They work on resolving whatever conflicts they have. Not like a number of shows I know where characters are so dense they don't communicate at all. LOL Don't get me started. I can name them in my sleep.
The Notting Hill reference was spot on...didn't really catch the love actually (both great movies)
I noticed both right away. Not me having watched Notting Hill and Love, Actually over a million times. They're my go-to feel good movies. I could be wrong about my inferences but I've got a feeling those scenes are inspired by Richard Curtis'.
Just a guess though, there's a couple of Richard Curtis' films references here.
1. Notting Hill - where Hugh Grant has his headphones on and accidentally overheard Julia Roberts talking to a fellow castmember while on break from filming. She was asked about who the guy (Grant) was and she said he was "just a friend"...
2. Love Actually - where the Prime Minister and his "assistant" kissed backstage of the school's Christmas programme, only for the curtains to open and the entire audience to see. (And of course, a subtle reference to the novel the series was adapted from -- Behind the Curtain).
Either Aof got his inspiration from those, or I'm wrong.
Reminded me of that scene in Love Actually, where the Prime Minister and his "assistant" kissed backstage only for the curtains to open and the entire audience to see. Only this time, everyone was shocked.
And just like that, we begin another 7-day countdown.
Won't be able to watch it the same time it premieres on YouTube because I have 2 online events to attend - last one will end around 2230-MNL. But I will catch up with you lot, later on. Don't worry about spoiling it for me. I'm ok with that.
Slightly missing in action today. Too much dev work I'm buried in shite. Hope you're all okay. If you're feeling anxious about tomorrow's episode, remember to breathe, my lovelies.
While waiting for EP 8 coming out tomorrow, just want to ask everyone here, where (and when) did you first know…
DISCLAIMER: Too long
I only started watching BLs this year, at the peak of a borderline depression episode.
I started with Together With Me in January (boy, did it tear me to pieces though). Then I made a connection with one of my friends who has been watching them for too long (I assume from when the BL genre began).
He suggested that I have a look at Ohm because of a private joke we always tell each other.
So I took my chance at Make It Right 1 somewhere between April and May (beegeesus! That was pure chaos). But it somehow grew on me.
Mind you though that I'm a GUNCLE (gay uncle) in his 40s) so Make It Right seems a bit awkward for me to be a bit giddy about.
On I went to season 2 and the way he played that loving Book character to scandalised Frame, and how he took care of him till the end touched my heart. How could someone so young at 15/16 can have so much love and patience to help his boyfriend pull through the scandal of that sex video?
And then I saw He's Coming To Me, my first "supernatural" BL drama. It was fun to watch. But having deeply rooted separation anxiety, I always clutch my chest and find it difficult to breathe when "goodbye scenes" are on screen --- I'm ok with characters dying, but the saying goodbye to each other, it just pains me to watch. But I still worked my way through that finale.
Two things about Ohm in He's Coming To Me : 1. The rooftop monologue - it wasn't a Shakespearean monologue but the pain in his voice when he was begging for Med to come out just to listen to what he had to say. I guess rooftops are what he's great at. 2. The coming out to mum - I didn't have a coming out like that as I guess my folks had always known and accepted but just wasn't talked about. Fuck me that was beautiful.
From then on I started fancying him as an actor. And then I'd see bits and pieces online of how he is behind the scenes, and I liked him even more. To be young, smart and unabashed.
Nanon, on the other hand, has not tickled my fancy until I started The Gifted (my first Non-BL Thai series). I've heard much about the kid but I watch both seasons in one sitting and immediately loved how he executed the role.
I've not seen any other Nanon shows except for that. But I have been looking at his insta and watching his YouTube channel for quite sometime. Great chap, I must say.
And then Bad Buddy came. And here I am, with all of you lovely people.

We've waited a week, another half a day shouldn't be so bad.
