Well, I agree with what you wrote. I also think that the marriage between Dad and Stepmother won't survive. And you pointing out the problems other couples would have due to their relation is actually something I also thought about. Usually, we see how conservative and how sensitive it is in Korea when it comes to family registry and surnames.

And I also think the reason she didn't approach when she returned the first time was bc she thought they were happy. I think that is a sign of her wanting her daughter to be happy, even when she wasn't.

I kind of don't like to think about her "saving" Mr. Park. I think she offered a deal that benefited both of them. So, in a way, they helped each other at the time.

I am wondering just how long she was in the hospital. Maybe that's why she took so long to come back. In the flashback, we see her come back when DD was like 8?

I have a problem with believing Anna Kim left bc she didn't want her daughter. I feel there's more. It doesn't make sense that she didn't want her child then, but is so invested in trying to help her now. At least, it doesn't seem like the usual behavior from mothers in kdramas when they leave their families.

And the fact that the step mother stayed doesn't mean she's the better option for DD or her father. At least imo.

Still, both women have to grow.

And you're right, DD is going to be devasted an angry when she finds out her mom is Anna K. She has every right to feel like that.

Btw, I agree with your point of view. I can't accept that narrative of "the stepmother is better bc she stayed". The woman benefited from helping Yoonchul. And after all the trouble she has caused, the fact that she stayed with them does not make her the better option.
Besides, I think Yoonchul has never really been in love with her.

She did. And that is why I think there's more to the whole story. And even if not, that does not make DD stepmom a better person tbh. She also benefited from 'helping' Yoonchul. She got a dad for her son and a husband that out of gratitude keeps forgiving her... even when DD has been hurt by her.

I never said she was worse. To me, they, all of the 3, have made mistakes. And I also think, Anna left for other reasons. Or at least, she hasn't said all there is about why she left.
And the stepmom needs to be out of Yoonchul's life, even if he doesn't get back with Anna. That woman has been just leeching of him and has not learned anything! And it is clear to me, that he is with her bc she "helped" him. Not bc he loves her sooo much.

This 💯!!!! I think DD is going to be mad when she finds who Anna is, but that doesn’t excuse what stepmom has done all this time! And I’m shipping the parents together, but there needs to be a process for that. And even if Dandan’s parents don’t end up together I need her dad to leave that greedy stepmom, cause seriously the woman doesn’t Lear or improve or think about anyone else but her son!
