I dont think this relationship is toxic when relationship doesnt even start with. By all means he has every right to reject relationship with woman ,if he's not ready emotionally to be there with her , to give commitment to another person. There is another issue regarding them TEACHER and STUDENT dynamic. i love how writer removed power balance ,making them EQUAL in their equation. Teacher student getting into physical relationship without consequences /morality conflict is what i considered toxic.
