He is definitely nailing his character, that's how he should be, never made any friends and was always alone so it makes sense that his demeanor would be like of a child with pure innocence and naivety. He will definitely mature once he encounters the bad side and let's hope his character transformation turns him into a more mature and responsible person!

Yes even in the quieter softer moments he uses his expressions very subtetly and nicely like in ep 4 when he and San young scared the hell outta each other, the way he portrayed how flustered he became was done nicely even with the minimal use of expressions

I think that's how his character is written, but clearly he is delivering well in emotions aspect when the scenes demand for it

This should sit at 8.8+ as of now..
