I've gone back 3 times to rewatch that. lol

I am screaming over the tub scene. OMG this is the power drama to beat in 2026. Their chemistry is so hot it makes me melt!! Thank you to the director and the wonderful actors and actresses who have acted their butts off and weren't afraid of the kissing and the passionate scenes. I can't say enough about this drama. So fantastic!!

She is undercover. And he's the Don of a crime syndicate. ??

I like her so I will go and watch that. However, she was hugely pro "A Dream Within A Dream" while I didn't last past Ep 5. Then she couldn't stand "The White Olive Tree" while I found it to be one of the best dramas at the time. lol We all have such varying tastes. Esp between different countries.

I can see your point, but endings like this just piss me off and spoils everything else.

I also liked Xiu and Yu's very realistic journey, more than the others. Jiang Xin is already an accomplished actress so I'm not surprised by her acting skills. Esp when she saw the huge photo of her husband and LuanLuan kissing. What wife wants to see that? However, I have to admit that I was all for their divorce and hoping for LuanLuan. Xiu and Yu were terribly mismatched. I hated XX and even when she started wearing on me when she was at her parents, I still could not warm up to her. The ending annoyed me and actually P***ed me off. As you said, they should have ended it with her swimming off. Thanks for your great review.

But all the friends were criticizing it saying it wasn't realistic, etc. It just sounded like the whole drama was actually the "movie".

I agree about the OST.

Not just you. As Americans, we were raised on certain entertainment criteria and the Asians grew up with theirs. I can't get into most of their TV game shows because I don't understand how they do things or why. lol I also watched for LYN, but this is the 2nd drama I've watched or tried to watch for his sake and have been left disappointed. Right now, I guess he is on a singing tour and won't be doing dramas for now. (saw this on a quick YT feed). I so hope he comes back with another power drama. Course his ADWAD was hugely successful as you said, with Chinese and ranked quite high. What can I say?

I was left confused over this weird ending. Was this whole drama nothing more than Gong's movie? It's like Dallas where the whole season turned out to be nothing more than a dream. First, I almost dropped the drama several times but I made myself watch it despite it's convoluted premise and the strange scenes. I love Liu Yu Ning but I think that maybe as an older American female, I just don't understand certain Chinese quirks. Such as "A Dream Within A Dream" which was highly recommended, even by Avenue X. But it was too odd for my tastes. I was sad bc I really wanted to watch Liu Yu Ning again since I had just watched "The Prisoner of Beauty" one of his best!! So, then moving on to "About Love", I held high hopes and altho it was sorta annoying I made myself stay and now I wish I had dropped it with this bewildering ending.
As for the characters, strangely, I rooted for LuanLuan and Xiu the most. I did NOT like Xiao Xi and hoped so hard that Bei would not end up with her. Which turned out to be not even an issue by Ep 26 because it was all a farce. I wasn't invested in Yu and Xiu or Sen and MingMing. Sen was such a pathetic simp and Yu was too powerful for sensitive Xiu. Not a good match. Gong was quirky and sorta fun, he made things more interesting. Strange role for Vengo Gao however. The friendships were nice to watch until Gong went after Bei's love. That was so wrong. One thing before the "movie" ending, Xiao Xi jumping into the lake while the two men couldn't even swim. What was THAT all about? sigh... annoying.
All in all, next time I come across another odd C-Drama, I won't make myself watch it if I can't get past at least 4 eps. Can I rate this one? Not in the least. I hope Liu Yu Ning comes back with another "blockbuster".

Wanted to see another Li Qing drama after seeing him on Pursuit of Jade, but this one I will never watch.

The first time I saw that I was stunned and felt so bad for them. I wouldn't have been able to say my lines (my lips would have been frozen lol) much less stand there with just a costume on. brrrr I remember an interview, I think it was Bai Lu, who said that they had to get in freezing water and pretend that it was the summer with warm water. gulp I deeply respect and admire the Asian actors and actresses. Much better in many ways than Americans. I am a Senior citizen and remember the acting in Asian movies and such and the running joke how the lips never moved in sync. Now I think well DUH that was because of two different languages being spoken at the same time. But times have changed and we have CC now. Even so, the acting has evolved and they do their own stunts and the dramas are more exciting and there is amazing history, etc. Anyway, I haven't watched an American movie or TV Show in over 5 years. ha
