Thoughts on Ep5:

This felt like the first filler episode of part 2 for me. Frankly I am tired of this 'I will hurt you real bad by saying spiteful things first and then later, when everything looks lost, will come and save you' trope from Jang Uk and JBY (marriage, unanimous assembly, firefly, now meeting JBY mom). It was fluffy and heartwarming the first couple of times. Not anymore. It's just out of character and annoying at this point. A character like Janguk that evolved beautifully from part 1 resorting to below the belt insults or snide remarks to hurt someone is so out of character.

I don't know if others share the same sentiment after this episode, but this is what I felt after today. I have always posted only positive things of the drama here but today was my first disappointment honestly.

Although I am pretty sure it will get better quickly in episode 6 as he most likely won't hurt her with words ever again like he did today. If he does it one more time, it will be a major character goof up from the writers for me.

Not really because there was no hint that his character was capable saying such terrible things to an innocent woman even when he has been missing his dead lover for so long. If you think this is justifiable, good for you but for me, this is the lowest point for his character after seeing it evolve for 25 episodes now & hence felt it's out of place.

He can maintain the distance from her without resorting to below the belt insults, right? Tell me when did you ever get such capability from his character since episode 1?

But do you think the words he said to her in today's episode was warranted even if you consider all this? It was just outright deplorable. Especially after all she did to comfort him only the day before. It's so out of character imo.

That is fine but the words he used today are simply not on. It was way too harsh when he knows she was just helping him. It's totally out of character

which is worse for JBY. Man is so inconsistent and keeps confusing her and subjects her to terrible mental trauma. And then tries to cozy up to her like nothing happened. They are really trying to ruin his character arc here I am afraid :(

Jang uk being unnecessarily mean with hurtful words again and again to JBY is so unwarranted and against his character. It's like he keeps confusing her by showing affection at times unasked for and then say harsh things to her face when she thinks he is opening up. I am not sure how I feel about this episode tbh. I really hope they don't regress his character any further.

Also happy all that pregnancy speculation were put to rest. I really want to see naksu and jang uk slaying the soul shifters together. It's gonna be so beautiful since GYJ did mention about some action scenes in her interview iirc.

And Crown Prince is so effortlessly funny. It's nice that they have him in this series for instant comedic relief xD

Seems like all the ships sailing in this episode except for the main couple. Like ukkie is subjecting her to so much emotional trauma despite doing nice things often and it continues today as well. Feel so bad for naksu. The amnesia plot needs to end next episode. It's not funny anymore to see a character like Uk continue to hurt someone mentally like this intentionally just coz he cannot get over his past love. There seems to be a lot of angst on store today

She can't hug a friend to comfort him? This isn't a typical sageuk right? The fantasy freedom can have its way as needed, don't you think?

Because JBY clearly shows different emotions to Yul and Jang Uk. So, this hug in no way demeans her feelings towards jang uk. Like as viewers we can clearly differentiate that the hug to jang uk in last episode was more to comfort him as his wife because he clearly was having a hard time and even allowed him to take advantage of her body to kiss her (we dont know how far that went yet) when he was drunk af. This is literally the glaring evidence of how much she loves jang uk. Do you really think JBY/Naksu would have allowed a drunk seo yul to kiss her? Then you have your answer to your question

As for the hug with Yul, it's clear that he hugged her first and she is just probably reciprocating because he was clearly emotional there. If the audience are able to differentiate this clearly, I think it's a non-issue.

Obviously there was zero malicious intent from yul from the trailer hug. He was clearly emotional. So people are looking too much into it imo

The hug is okay in my opinion. Why? Because yeong is clearly reciprocating the hug. Also we don't know the context behind the stills yet. So don't understand people slaughtering yul here even if he hugged her after knowing it was naksu. As long it's reciprocated mutually, I don't see a problem because the director has made it super clear regarding yeong's feelings towards jang uk already

Don't make it so obvious that you are a troll. The series is ongoing and well on its way to the double figures. It's so obvious you just can't stomach the success it achieved because you are part of that miserable bunch that were eagerly waiting for the series to fail because their fav wasn't casted. Being miserable on the internet doesn't make you cool. lol

You don't care about MDL yet take it serious enough to come to the same MDL & vent your frustration 😂

P.S: The series and part 2 specifically is already a smashing hit both in korea and worldwide whether you like it or not. So, stay pressed. Nobody cares :)

Don’t even care about anything else to be sorted other than a happy ending for these cutiepies everytime I see their scenes 😂
