I watch asian dramas for years, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai etc... I still have a problem with telling them apart on same scenes. I still can but it's something i can't do without concentrating, which really scare the crap out of me when i think of 4 other enchante that will join them.
Cienemotgrapy, story, and acting seem good so far - It was a solid first episode, that i enjoyed more than i thought I would. Just not sure about the actors chemistry with each other. They both have this i am straight dude vibe - adding to GMMTV handshake, high five etc... it can go both way.... Also it can be said that casting director like a specific type, from the trailer alone i knew i would have a problem with telling some of the actors apart because some of them could easily pass as brothers... Another thing is Theo bahevior, he grew up in France, feel more comfortable speaking French so why don't he show any typical french mannerism?
Some people feel that something is off and I agree with you. But it's not about acting but about novel adaptation problems. Novel and drama are two different mediums, in the recent episode it finally become clear to me. For example, the jumping roof scene (I will not mention cringe-worthy jumps slow motions...) -> it was all about narration which is probably copy-paste from book because when some dialogs were especially good it fell short as drama. Books need to overexplain some things because it their only way to explain the plot but dramas need to have a much broader range. To simplify it we don't want to have the plot narrated but see it unfold.
