Aaaaand this is why you secure your dungeons and/or kill your enemies and/or don't trust your dad who's lied a gazillion times already, especially when you knew his cultivation was ruined in the sword tomb and he still fought Fugui fine. Rumu, ah, Rumu, you brought this on yourself. Your dad does suck though.
Fugui, as usual, continues to be who I would go to if I had a problem in this universe and needed a solution. Him and his dad managed to move me, an achievement after ep11 when I thought I'd never like his dad again. ;-;
People are dissappointed in the 2nd part but they will still probably pay for express lol..
I'm not sure if they'll sell it, since they bundled it with the VIP package. I remember instead of them giving it to us sooner, they just didn't offer any express bundles on iQIYI for TJOL. Hopefully I'm wrong and they will give it to subscribers ;-;
Is it true that Cheng Yi refused to do any romantic or kissing scenes in this drama?
We're not yet at the end, so we don't know what there'll be. (The actors would have no control over the script though. What is in it will be the production/writer/director's choice only.)
I think the trouble is that the characters getting the screen time are good actors but they act as they’re directed…
Yup. Fugui demo’d with Lady Feng how you do it, it’s not like these writers don’t know. And exactly, “not wanting to hurt their feelings” will not actually stop their feelings from being hurt if you don’t like them, so why give them false hope unless you’re actually still considering them? 😓😓
This drama started so good with very good charecters and everything everything went to drain since 18 episode…
I think the trouble is that the characters getting the screen time are good actors but they act as they’re directed rather than how their characters should reasonably react in their situations. Is Rumu funny when he reacts so stunned when Fugui showed up as Royal Master? Yup he’s cute and hilarious. Would anyone actually clever react like that while under direct observation of the guy they are trying to trick and then not even worry they’ve exposed themselves? Heck nope. Do we want to save Fox Prince from the blight formation? Absolutely. But if someone shouted “Our three powers together will blow this up and nuke the region” (and we know there’s massive deaths because the tree is massively growing, all Fugui saved is 1 city) should there have been guilt that thousands are dying right now because of this unnecessary choice? Absolutely. Even “Want to kill my dad? Nope? How about we immediately go on a cute date then, where’s my snowflakes?❄️” or “Hit me and scold me all you want and I’ll never complain, make every decision and I’ll always do what you say” “aww, clearly great husband material right there” is 👀👀👀 Like 🥲
Like QT’s butchering is noticeable because she was sweet and kind and useful and smart and she became cold and not that bright and pretty blind just so QC’s arc could needlessly extend. But the others for me got butchered as well, only those who didn’t get screen time were spared and still feel like they’re doing what their character would immersively do in their situation, namely Fugui, the YA mob, and to a lesser extent Rumu’s dad. The rest are cute but their development no longer feels meaningful because it’s not developed but rather “today you’re going to be serious” or “today you’ll be funny” according to the writer’s choice.😓😓😓 (and the girls are not helped by their shared ‘aww, how can I not soften a bit towards my unwanted suitor when he keeps persisting no matter how much I say no and hurt him?’ mentality either. They’re gorgeous and good actors so I still like them it’s just their logic is a mess on this point.)
Have you ever seen someone buy expensive and delicious ingredients for creating a certain dish or style of food,…
Or that time you go to a restaurant and order a steak because you want a steak and it looks nice on the menu, but you end up with some raw sashimi because the chef is capable of cooking just fine but is pretty sure you didn’t actually want that steak you ordered, you’ll love his sashimi way more 🤣😆
Hi i have a question i want to start this one but do i need to watch love in pavilion first or no?
You’re okay not watching it, I haven’t either and this series is good as a standalone, there’s flashbacks to the relevant parts where they’re relevant ✅
Sharing my thoughts here on this question:1) In Ep5, she declared she would stay forever with Fugui to repay him…
😅 Except that QC’s only just attained human form (we saw how much she struggled to even walk), has been given a vague direction “go east” but no food or change of clothing, just some money, and QC barely even understands how money works (his uncertainty when paying initially could easily have been exploited by crueler people). He is also being targeted by Madam Yin just like she is. She has no reason to think he even made it safely to the village at all, yet she never checks up on him or thinks of him in a voiceover or even sends a butterfly letter at all, her attention is only for Fugui till her kidnap by QC; there’s no space or anything missing from her life with QC’s absence. Not saying they can’t be close, I’m sure it’s just bad writing, but more why it’s jarring to me as a viewer; her actions don’t really align with her words.
Agree. The romance story for the other 2 couples are way better. How could the writer did so badly for the main…
I'm not saying there's no hope they'll overcome it-- just that I think that if they do, it will be gentle thawing; just like she initially helped him to see that life doesn't need to be so cold when he was lonely at the start and showed him how you can enjoy the little things despite pain, he is showing her that now since she's the one who's lonely and depressed now her abusive bro is gone since her abusive bro occupied all her free time and didn't let her see other people or make other friends. With this writer I don't know but realistically I think she will need time herself to move past her grief and thaw and like herself again before she can just enter into romance.

I think there's meant to be a chasm, and it's understandable there is a wall between them. Her brother's just died by suicide and she's just realizing that he's been killing people behind her back for months and trying to help destroy the world. She probably genuinely isn't feeling anything positive inside right now at all.

writers really did them dirty in that 18-28 arc 🥺
