Iirc when his uncle stabbed him didnāt he take some kind of blood slower thing where they said it would dramatically slow aging as well as make you not bleed out or smth? If he took something like that in preparation for being stabbed by Pickles, then was wearing some kind of fire resistant clothes like leather under his white cloak and then was blown out the door (or close enough to it to crawl out) as opposed to the king who was blown further inside? I mean it could happen?
And since the king is the master of death and can blind fight (we saw him doing fine with hearing alone with the smoke bombs) I wouldnāt want to be the one trying to kill him especially not when the only legitimate heir doesnāt want the position and would actively punish anyone involved in targeting the emperor. š„¶
(Iāve been suspending my disbelief since GuYu rode like that without working legs and kept his position despite being a cripple, from the start this has been a super inclusive nation in terms of letting people with injuries keep their jobs. I tell myself the Huben army are basically the Civil Service, they run the country anyway so it matters little to them which puppet sits on the throne.)
On the other hand, paying to watch legally is extra šµ for the platform, which translates to more benefit for the platform to invest in making more shows with CY.
I cant even imagine any other actor playing Huai An in 2nd season. Not possible to replace Cy.
I dropped that one b/c I couldnāt suspend my disbelief enough over the unbelievable medicine & hospital practices, but from memory of what I did see that one, it would be completely fine as long as Kim Sa Bu the walking ball of charisma and the life force of that drama remains in the plot šš¤£š¤£š¤£
No romance. Enemies die. (Not only do they die, but they die satisfyingly, with emotional stakes and wins and losses between sides divided throughout, rather than all suffering or wins being only for one side.) XHA lives. (If you watch the special.)

Itās not possible to replace him as XHA, but if they couldnāt tempt him with S2, they could possibly just have a different ML receiving letters from XHA, or stepping up for court politics etc because theyāve lost contact with XHA, with it being a plot point that heās left some clues or writings to kick them off and guide them. The rest of the cast is so amazing in this, I would still watch this show for them even if XHA was not in it tbh, even if heās my favourite and Iād miss him.

I agree with most of this except for two things:
It didnāt sound particularly like Tiemo has power factions, it sounds like they declare king whoever they think will let them survive the next winter but no one wants the job bc their land is so bad. Thus Iām not sure Cen Pickles would be working for a rival faction, or maybe just for faction #WorkingToEnsureStableTiemoEconomySoNoOneStarves.
Itās his voice tho. Nobody else has that beautiful voice thus it can only be him.
I dunno, it makes sense if he is alive to me.
1) He promised his sister heād retire peacefully with a cat. 2) He was foretold heād live till his hair turned white again. (Heās trying to force the prophesy with hair dye but thatās not how they work) 3) He closed the doors behind him but never barred them, and the force of the explosion blew them open. If he was standing close to the entrance he would be blown towards the exit while the king would have been blown further in, consumed by fire. 4) The overarching problem (there is not enough to eat for Tiemo) has not been resolved. Changāan can spare food to fund a whole underground river city of refugees, it has more than it needs while Tiemo doesnāt have enough. Stealing food because you have none isnāt the right answer, but Iād back him sorting out the mess that is their nation. 5) He wants to live so he can keep remembering his family.
For me its plausible on all these levels if he didnāt die in the fire, but that the last of his vengeance burnt up instead since the masterminds who were involved in the betrayal and murder of his dad and family were finally all dead.

š Nah, for a less distinctive voice it could happen, but not his. Only he has that voice. It is such a beautiful voice. He is randomly in a locked room without a hair brush (or had one but thatās what happens to hair you donāt brush daily when itās that long, it could have been a morning wake up call) but heās alive, I will take it.)
How he lived is way more of a mystery given the boom but if YFS lived and only pretended to collapse like XHA did after the stab in the stomach, maybe YFS picked him up and got him out. š They can be a toad found family, both ooozing charisma and scheming while still caring about the nation š

To me they summed it up nicely in ep28ā we are on the side of our people having enough to eat, you are on the side of your people having enough to eat, of course we will fight. This show was very good at showing how soft people were to those they cared about while at the same time how merciless they were/āwhat has that to do with me?ā to those they didnāt. I backed the ML because you starving doesnāt automatically entitle you to my food, but at the same time I couldnāt hate the enemies either except for ones like Psycho Su.
